The catch is that you read everything in the app and the charging cable isn't in the box. Its heart rate accuracy rests on one reviewer's comparison, not a validation study.

You want screen-free sleep, heart rate and recovery tracking, or an upper-arm heart rate source, for $99.99 with no required fee.
THINK TWICE IF
No. Amazfit says the Helio Strap works with the free Zepp app and has no required monthly subscription1. TechRadar’s reviewer found no subscription is needed for day-to-day use5.
Zepp Aura is the optional paid service. Its free tier has sleep music, guided meditation and one AI sleep assistant message a day4. Premium adds unlimited AI messages, weekly and monthly sleep reports and a larger library4. It costs $11.99 a month or $69.99 a year, after a 14-day free trial4.
It costs much less and has no required fee, but WHOOP includes more features16. The Helio Strap is $99.99 once12. WHOOP Peak is $239 a year with the WHOOP 5.0 device included, or $717 over three years if the fee never changes6. Adding Zepp Aura’s annual plan to the Helio Strap would bring three years to $309.964.
Both are screen-free straps. WHOOP rates its battery at 14+ days67, against up to 10 days for the Helio Strap1. Amazfit lists an optical heart rate sensor with accelerometer, gyroscope and temperature sensing1.
TechRadar’s reviewer called the Helio Strap a good lower-cost alternative to a Whoop band, with readiness insights that aren’t as deep5. WHOOP Peak adds Healthspan, a Stress Monitor and Health Monitor alerts6. If you mainly want sleep, heart rate and recovery numbers without a yearly fee, the Helio Strap is the cheaper route1.
