The verdict

Omnilux Men is a flexible silicone mask with 132 LEDs at 633, 830 and 1072 nm and a fixed 10-minute session. The catch is that Omnilux says it's FDA cleared, but FDA's device record for this model shows no 510(k) number. The 30 mW/cm² output figure also has no measuring distance.

The trade-off

FDA's device record for this model shows no 510(k) number, and Omnilux names no study of this exact mask.

A GOOD FIT FOR

You want a simple 10-minute mask with a 1072 nm wavelength and a 2-year warranty on the controller.

  • You want a mask with a 1072 nm near-infrared wavelength, which Omnilux's Contour Face doesn't have
  • You want a flexible silicone mask with one fixed 10-minute program
  • You want a 2-year warranty that covers the controller as well as the mask
  • You want Omnilux's men's mask and accept that it names no study of this exact mask

THINK TWICE IF

  • You want a clearance you can look up, since FDA's device record for this model shows no 510(k) number
  • You have a heavy beard, since Omnilux says hair deflects light and heavier beards see less improvement
  • You're pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • You're under 21, the minimum age Omnilux gives
  • You have a photosensitive disorder, light-induced headaches or a genetic eye condition, or take photosensitizing medication, per Omnilux's guide
  • You want a published trial of this exact mask before you buy
What still needs checking
  • The 510(k) number, if any, that covers the Men's mask and its 1072 nm LEDs
  • The distance and method behind the 30 mW/cm² figure
  • How many LEDs emit each wavelength
  • Whether the 2023 men's mask study used Omnilux Men, and how many men took part
  • Mask size and weight, battery capacity and charge time
  • Whether a used mask can be returned within the 30 days
  • Flicker and EMF levels during a session
  • Which charging cable ships today, micro USB or USB-C

Does Omnilux Men work?

The evidence for this exact mask is thin. A 2023 paper on a commercially available 633, 830 and 1072 nm men’s mask reported improvements in wrinkles, skin texture and UV spots after 6 weeks. Its abstract names no brand and gives no group size9.

Omnilux says Men is FDA cleared for full-face wrinkles1. FDA’s device record for the Men’s model lists no 510(k) number, and no clearance in FDA’s 510(k) data names the Men’s mask67. A 510(k) clearance shows a device is substantially equivalent to an earlier one, so it wouldn’t prove the mask works8.

A 2026 review of eight studies of at-home LED devices found improvements in wrinkles, texture and elasticity, with mild side effects, and asked for larger standardized trials10. Omnilux’s own clinical results on its page give no study, sample size or citation1.

The practical details.

Specifications for Omnilux Men
Exact variantflexible silicone face mask with battery controller
Wavelengths633 nm red, 830 nm near infrared and 1072 nm near infrared on the product page. The user guide lists red at 630 nm ±10, near infrared at 830 nm ±10 and near infrared at 1070 nm ±20
LEDs132 LEDs in 66 bulbs, two per bulb. Omnilux doesn't say how many LEDs emit each of the three wavelengths
IrradianceAbout 30 mW/cm² according to Omnilux's FAQ, with no measuring distance and no split by wavelength
Session10 minutes, a fixed program. Omnilux suggests 3 to 5 treatments a week for 4 to 6 weeks, then maintenance as desired. The user guide says 3 to 5 days a week for at least 4 weeks
FDA statusOmnilux says it's FDA cleared for full-face wrinkles. FDA's device record for Omnilux Men's (model TN2227) lists product codes OHS (light based over-the-counter wrinkle reduction) and ILY (lamp, infrared, therapeutic heating), with no 510(k) number
PowerRechargeable lithium-ion polymer battery in the controller. Capacity and charge time aren't stated. The adapter takes 100 to 240 V at 0.25 A and outputs 5 V. The mask can't be used while charging
Eye safetyOmnilux says the mask needs no eye protection and conforms to IEC/EN 62471. The user guide says to stop a session if you get severe headaches or unusual changes in vision
Age and first useIntended for users 21 and older. The user guide requires a sensitization test first: run one 10-minute session on the inner arm, then wait at least 6 hours and check for redness or itching
Skin prepUse on a clean face with skincare and aftershave removed. Omnilux says it works best on light beards, since hair deflects light

Before you buy

InstallationNone

None. The mask runs from a rechargeable lithium-ion polymer battery in the controller, and it can't be used while charging. The user guide describes charging through a micro USB cable from a 5 V adapter (100 to 240 V), while the product page lists a USB-C to USB-A cable. The box also holds plug adaptors, head straps and a carry bag.

WarrantyTwo years from delivery on the mask and its controller, per the product page…

Two years from delivery on the mask and its controller, per the product page and the warranty policy. It covers defects in materials or workmanship for the original buyer who bought from Omnilux or an authorized provider. Omnilux replaces the device or provides parts. Batteries count as consumable parts and aren't covered unless defective, and normal wear such as silicone discoloration is excluded. If you don't want a replacement and you're inside the return window, Omnilux issues a credit instead.

Returns30 days from delivery, per Omnilux's returns policy…

30 days from delivery, per Omnilux's returns policy, which covers only orders placed on omniluxled.com. You request a return through Omnilux's form or support email, then send the device back with the original box and accessories. Omnilux deducts a $15 return fee, which covers the prepaid label. Refunds go to your original payment method for the price plus sales tax, minus the fee, and accessories and ancillary parts are nonrefundable. The policy doesn't say whether a used mask qualifies.

More about this assessment

Omnilux Men is a flexible silicone mask with 132 LEDs at 633 nm red and 830 and 1072 nm near infrared, priced at $395. Omnilux says it's FDA cleared for full-face wrinkles. FDA's device record for the Men's model lists no 510(k) number, and no clearance names the Men's mask or 1072 nm light. Omnilux gives about 30 mW/cm² with no distance. Sessions last 10 minutes, 3 to 5 times a week for 4 to 6 weeks. A 2023 paper on a 633, 830 and 1072 nm men's mask reported better wrinkles and texture after 6 weeks, but its abstract names no brand or group size. The warranty is 2 years, and returns cost $15.

Strengths on paper

  • Three wavelengths, including 1072 nm near infrared that Omnilux's Contour Face lacks
  • Omnilux publishes an LED count (132) and an output figure (about 30 mW/cm²)
  • A fixed 10-minute program with no app or settings
  • 2-year warranty on the mask and the controller
  • 30-day return window
  • A 2023 peer-reviewed paper assessed a mask with the same three wavelengths, though its abstract doesn't name the brand

Limitations

  • FDA's device record for model TN2227 shows no 510(k) number, and Omnilux's page gives none
  • The 30 mW/cm² figure has no distance and no breakdown by wavelength
  • Omnilux names no study of this exact mask, and the page's clinical results give no sample size or citation
  • The user guide lists a pain indication that the product page doesn't mention
  • The user guide describes micro USB charging, while the page lists a USB-C cable
  • Returns cost $15, and the policy doesn't say whether a used mask qualifies
  • The warranty excludes battery wear
  • No mask size, weight, battery capacity or charge time is published
  • Heavier beards block some light, per Omnilux

Replacement parts & cost assumptions

No scheduled consumable is listed. That doesn’t mean zero maintenance or repair costs.

  • Purchase is the $395 list price on Oct 23, 2026. Tax is extra, and the banner offers free shipping on orders of $100 or more.
  • Installation is $0. It's a wearable mask with a battery controller that charges from a wall outlet.
  • Nothing needs replacing on a schedule, and no subscription is needed. The $51 serum on the product page is optional and isn't counted.
  • Daily use is about 0.12 hours (7 minutes), the top of Omnilux's schedule of five 10-minute sessions a week. After 4 to 6 weeks, Omnilux leaves maintenance sessions up to you.
  • Omnilux doesn't publish power draw or battery capacity, so energy cost is unknown.
  • Batteries count as consumable parts under the warranty, so normal battery wear isn't covered. Omnilux doesn't publish a price for a replacement controller or battery.

Evidence & sources.

Does red light therapy work? Our evidence review grades the research as Mixed. That grade is about the claim, not about this product.

  • Regulator recordFDA's device identifier database lists Omnilux Men's, model TN2227, from I-Smart Developments Limited as an over-the-counter Men's Facemask Device (Red & NIR), in commercial distribution. The record carries product codes OHS (light based over-the-counter wrinkle reduction) and ILY (lamp, infrared, therapeutic heating). It shows no 510(k) number.611 The Contour Face's record in the same database carries K191629, and the Men's record carries none. A device identifier record isn't a clearance.
  • Regulator recordFDA's registration and listing database lists the Men's name under K191629, the faceLITE clearance. That clearance doesn't name the 1072 nm LEDs.1112 FDA's classification page marks ILY as exempt from 510(k), so a listing under that code isn't a clearance.
  • Regulator recordFDA's 510(k) data lists five clearances for iSmart, Omnilux's maker. None names the Men's mask, model TN2227 or 1072 nm light. The faceLITE (K191629, Sept 12, 2019) is cleared for full-face wrinkles.78 The K191629 summary describes 630 and 830 nm LEDs at 30 mW/cm² for 10 minutes, five times a week for six weeks, and says clinical data wasn't required. It shows the FDA found that mask substantially equivalent to an earlier mask, not proven in a trial.
  • Manufacturer claimOmnilux says Omnilux Men is FDA cleared for the treatment of full face wrinkles, lists FDA, CE and TGA as certifications, and calls the device dermatologist-recommended with clinically proven results.12 The page gives no 510(k) number or model number. Omnilux's user guide says the device can help reduce the signs of aging and is also indicated for the alleviation of pain, increased blood flow and temporary relaxation of muscles. The page doesn't mention the pain wording.
  • Published studyA 2023 paper in Archives of Dermatological Research assessed a commercially available 633, 830 and 1072 nm LED face mask designed for male skin. After 6 weeks, participants reported improvements in every category. Digital photo analysis showed favorable changes in wrinkles and spots.9 The abstract names no mask or group size and doesn't say whether there was a control group, and the full text isn't available. The wavelengths match Omnilux Men, but the brand match isn't confirmed. The results rest on self-reports and photo analysis.
  • Published studyA 2026 systematic review of at-home LED devices for facial rejuvenation covered eight studies with 365 participants. It reported statistically significant improvements in wrinkles, skin texture, elasticity and periorbital wrinkles, with infrequent, mild and transient adverse events.10 The authors called for larger, standardized and comparative trials and noted variable treatment protocols and few participants of diverse skin types. The abstract doesn't say whether Omnilux Men was among the devices. It isn't a test of this mask.
  • Manufacturer claimOmnilux reports that in clinical studies, Omnilux Men users agreed their UV spots were reduced, fine lines looked less visible and skin tone was more even. The schedule was 3 to 5 treatments a week for 6 weeks.1 The page names no study and gives no sample size, follow-up or control group. Its FAQ cites over 40 peer-reviewed studies of Omnilux technology in general, without saying which tested this mask.
