The verdict

The PRO1500 is a 36-inch, 300-LED panel at 660 and 850 nm that hangs on a door with the included mount. It suits you if you want a big panel with simple controls and a three-year warranty. The catch: Hooga names no lab or meter for its irradiance figures, and its own pages disagree on power draw.

The trade-off

Its output figures aren't backed by a named test, it has no pulse or dimming, and return shipping comes out of your refund.

About this price

List price on Hooga's US product page, with no sale shown. Hooga's online store shows the same $1,199 for its only configuration, with no markdown, and lists it as available. Tax is extra, and Hooga offers free US shipping on orders over $100. Mobile stands are sold separately.

A GOOD FIT FOR

You want a full-length 660 and 850 nm panel that hangs on a door, with output given at several distances.

  • You want a full-length panel that hangs on a door, with the hardware in the box
  • You want irradiance figures at 3, 6, 12 and 18 in so you can estimate a dose at your own distance
  • You may add more PRO panels later, since it links to them on a Hooga mobile stand (sold separately)

THINK TWICE IF

  • You want pulse or brightness control or more wavelengths: Hooga points you to the ULTRA1500 for those
  • You need an FDA-cleared device, which Hooga says its panels aren't
  • You want a finished panel with UL or ETL listing
  • You want free returns, since the return shipping cost comes out of your refund
What still needs checking
  • How the irradiance figures were measured, and with what instrument
  • Actual wall power draw, given the 530 W and 300 W figures
  • How output splits between red and near infrared
  • Housing material
  • The door mount's weight rating
  • Fan noise
  • What return shipping costs for a 21 lb panel
  • Whether 'open-box items cannot be refunded' applies to a panel you've unboxed and tried
  • Which models the scanned FCC, CE and RoHS certificates name
  • The FDA listing record itself, which Hooga shares only on request

The practical details.

InstallationA door mount and a hanging kit with an adjustable pulley come in the box

A door mount and a hanging kit with an adjustable pulley come in the box. The manual says to hang the kit and panel from the door mount, then plug the panel into any outlet. Mobile stands are sold separately. Input is AC 85–265 V, and no dedicated circuit or electrician is described.

WarrantyThree years on the PRO1500, per the product page, the store listing and the manual

Three years on the PRO1500, per the product page, the store listing and the manual. The manual counts the three years from delivery and says the warranty covers all parts and labor. Hooga's warranty page says coverage starts on the date of purchase, with no activation step. Abuse, misuse, modification, drops and non-Hooga parts aren't covered. If Hooga needs the panel back, you pay to ship it. Claims go by email to contact@hoogahealth.com.

Returns60 days from delivery

60 days from delivery. The panel must be in the condition you received it, in its original packaging. Returns aren't free: Hooga deducts the return shipping cost from your refund once it receives the item. US customers can print a prepaid label at Hooga's discounted rates. The policy also says 'open-box items cannot be refunded'. It doesn't say whether that covers any panel you've unboxed during the 60 days or only units sold as open-box. Items that aren't in original condition, or come back after 60 days, get only a partial refund. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method within 3 to 5 business days.

More about this assessment

The PRO1500 is a 36 by 8.6 inch panel with 300 dual-chip LEDs at 660 nm red and 850 nm near infrared. At $1,199, it hangs on a door with the included mount, and Hooga lists no replacement parts or subscription. Hooga gives irradiance from 218 mW/cm² at 3 inches to 102 mW/cm² at 18 inches, but names no meter, lab or method. Its product page lists 530 W power consumption, while its comparison chart says 300 W. The warranty is three years, but 60-day returns cost you the return shipping. Hooga says the panel isn't 510(k) cleared or UL or ETL listed as a finished device.

Strengths on paper

  • Irradiance is given at four distances, from 218 mW/cm² at 3 in to 102 mW/cm² at 18 in
  • On Hooga's numbers, 10 minutes at 12 in works out to about 82 J/cm², so you can estimate a dose
  • Door mount, hanging kit with pulley and goggles in the box, so you don't need a stand
  • Three-year warranty on parts and labor
  • 60-day return window
  • You can run red, near infrared or both
  • Hooga says plainly that the panel has no 510(k) clearance and no finished-panel UL or ETL listing
  • Hooga labels it HSA/FSA eligible
  • $400 less than the BON CHARGE Super Max and $500 less than the Joovv Solo 3.0, at the list prices this site recorded on Oct 13, 2026

Limitations

  • Two power figures: 530 W on the product page and 300 W on the comparison chart
  • No meter, lab or method is named for the irradiance figures
  • No outside test of the PRO1500 was found, and Hooga reports that an outside test of its ULTRA 1500 read below its own figure
  • Return shipping comes out of your refund, and you pay to ship the panel in for warranty service
  • Not UL- or ETL-listed as a finished device
  • No pulse or brightness control
  • Only two wavelengths, 660 nm and 850 nm
  • Hooga says eye protection is 'Not required', yet puts goggles in the box and tells you not to stare at the LEDs
  • EMF and flicker claims come without a test report

Energy component: $12.54

Purchase + installation + years × (annual consumables + annual other) + watts/1000 × hours/day × 365 × years × $/kWh. Annualized allowances, not an exact replacement schedule. Excludes taxes, shipping, finance and resale unless entered.
Replacement parts & cost assumptions

No scheduled consumable is listed. That does not mean zero maintenance or repair costs.

  • Purchase is the $1,199 list price on Oct 13, 2026. Tax is extra, and US shipping is free on orders over $100.
  • Installation is $0 because the door mount and hanging kit are in the box and the panel plugs into an ordinary outlet. A mobile stand costs extra and isn't counted.
  • Hooga lists no replacement parts, app or subscription, so yearly consumables and other costs are $0. That leaves out return shipping and shipping for warranty service.
  • Watts uses the 530 W power consumption on the product page. Hooga's comparison chart says 300 W, and neither page says it's measured wall draw.
  • Hours per day is 0.12, which assumes 10-minute sessions 5 days a week, the top of Hooga's suggested 3 to 5. The manual says ten minutes or less is usually enough.
  • At 530 W that's about 23 kWh a year. At 300 W it would be about 13 kWh.

Evidence & sources.

Does red light therapy work? Our evidence review grades the research as Mixed. That grade is about the claim, not about this product.

  • Manufacturer claimModel, price, specs, box contents, use guidance, warranty and return terms all come from Hooga.16 None of it was independently measured. Hooga's certifications page says its irradiance, EMF and LED lifespan figures are manufacturer specifications. The product page and comparison chart disagree on power consumption (530 W and 300 W). The manual's irradiance and coverage table had no readable values.
  • Manufacturer claimHooga says its panels come from an ISO 13485:2016 certified facility, with a BSI certificate that runs through May 13, 2027. It says Shenzhen STL Testing Technology issued its FCC, CE and RoHS certificates, and the FCC declaration covers PRO300 to PRO4500 panels. It calls the LED drivers, power cords and wiring in PRO panels UL listed (file numbers E334687 and E365821-E481559).7 Hooga says the finished panel isn't UL- or ETL-listed. UL-listed parts aren't the same as a listed device. The certificates are posted as scanned PDFs, and the models they name weren't confirmed here. The ISO 13485 certificate is available only on request.
  • Regulator recordHooga says its panels are listed with the FDA under its manufacturing partner's establishment registration, under product code ILY. It says this is a listing-level record, not 510(k) clearance. FDA's classification database names ILY 'lamp, infrared, therapeutic heating', a Class 2 device under 21 CFR 890.5500 that is exempt from 510(k).79 Hooga describes ILY as 'infrared lamp, non-heating', which doesn't match FDA's name for the code. A listing isn't clearance or approval, and it isn't a finding that the panel works for any health use. An AccessGUDID search for 'hooga' returned 0 results on Oct 13, 2026, though a record under the factory's name can't be ruled out. Hooga says its listing records are available only on request, so the listing wasn't confirmed in an FDA database. The product page carries the disclaimer that its statements haven't been evaluated by the FDA.
  • Manufacturer claimHooga's certifications page reports an outside spectrometer test of its ULTRA 1500 by Light Therapy Insiders. It read 104 mW/cm² peak and 81.7 mW/cm² average at 6 in, below Hooga's published figure. The page also reports a reviewer's reading of 192 mW/cm² at 6 in for the PRO4500.7 Neither test covers the PRO1500, and no independent measurement of the PRO1500 was found among the sources checked. Hooga links the ULTRA 1500 result to a review whose web address names the ULTRA 360, so the model tested is unclear.
