The seven rings side by side
Every alternative here costs less than either Oura over three years, counting the price and any required fee. RingConn Gen 2 Air comes to $199, and RingConn Gen 3 and Circular Ring 2 to $349 each212235. Samsung Galaxy Ring comes to $399.99 and Ultrahuman Ring PRO to $4791429. Oura Ring 4 comes to $558.97 and Ring 5 to $608.97 on annual billing346.
None of these figures is evidence of a health or longevity effect. Battery life is each maker’s own rating, and it depends on ring size and settings1528.
Prices are US list prices on each maker’s own store, before tax, and none was a sale price when checked. Samsung’s was checked on October 13, 2026, Circular’s on October 24 and the rest on October 23. Circular’s price includes shipping and US import duties37. Every figure is the maker’s own unless a study is named.

Which Oura Ring alternative suits you
Each suits a different need, and this isn’t a ranking. All seven send sleep, heart-rate and temperature readings to a phone app151421222834. They differ in what you pay each year, how often you charge and how easily you can send one back.
- Paying once and charging rarely: Ultrahuman Ring PRO. It’s $479 with the charging case included, and Ultrahuman says there are no recurring fees for accessing your data14. It lists up to 15 days a charge and up to 250 days of storage1417. The trade-off: Ultrahuman publishes no accuracy figures for Ring PRO, and some features are paid PowerPlugs1415.
- No fee, a charging case and up to 14 days a charge: RingConn Gen 3. It’s $349, the page says ‘No Subscription Required’, and the ring stores 10 days of data offline21. The trade-off: returns need a valid reason such as a defect23. RingConn also publishes no validation for its vascular and sleep apnea insights21.
- A $199 ring with no fee: RingConn Gen 2 Air. RingConn lists the subscription fee as free and rates the battery at up to 10 days22. The trade-off: it charges on a wired dock, and RingConn doesn’t list its sensor types22. The same 14-day, valid-reason return policy applies23.
- Samsung Galaxy phone owners: Samsung Galaxy Ring. It’s $399.99 for Titanium Black, with no subscription listed2829. Find My Ring shows its last location, and a double pinch can control phone functions28. The trade-off: Samsung says it needs a compatible Samsung phone, and the ring page gives no warranty length28.
- An on-demand ECG from a ring: Circular Ring 2. It’s $349 with a wireless charging case, and Circular says no subscription is mandatory3435. It adds a single-lead ECG you can export as a PDF34. The trade-off: Circular calls its blood pressure readings wellness estimates and publishes no accuracy data for them3445.
- Staying with Oura in its newer ring: Oura Ring 5. It’s $399 for Silver, 2.28 mm thick and rated at 6 to 9 days a charge124. Oura cites published studies for its accuracy figures, though they tested earlier rings89. The trade-off: most insights need the $69.99-a-year membership, and the ring holds only up to 3 days of data23.
- Oura’s app and scores at $349 up front: Oura Ring 4. It’s Oura’s previous ring, with the same membership36. It stores up to 7 days of data, against up to 3 on Ring 52. The trade-off: it’s thicker, at 2.88 mm against 2.28 mm, and Oura rates its battery at 5 to 8 days15.
Is there an Oura Ring dupe?
Not an exact one. Every ring here tracks sleep and heart rate in an app, and each alternative skips Oura’s membership1421222834. Each one also gives up something Oura Ring 5 has. Here’s what you trade away, and what you get back.
- Ultrahuman Ring PRO gives up the slimmer build and any published accuracy figures. It’s 2.65 mm thick and 3.3 to 4.8 g, against 2.28 mm and from 2 g for Ring 5117. Ultrahuman publishes no accuracy figures for it15. You get a $479 one-time price, up to 15 days a charge and free return shipping1415.
- RingConn Gen 3 gives up Oura’s easier returns. RingConn takes a ring back within 14 days only for a valid reason such as a defect, and only unopened and unused23. Oura takes returns within 30 days if the ring is fully functional and undamaged7. You get a $349 ring with a charging case, no subscription and up to 14 days a charge21.
- RingConn Gen 2 Air gives up the charging case, a published sensor list and the same easy returns. It charges on a wired dock, and RingConn doesn’t list its sensor types2223. You get a $199 ring with no subscription and up to 10 days a charge22.
- Samsung Galaxy Ring gives up phones other than Samsung’s. Samsung’s US page says it needs a compatible Samsung phone, while Oura works with iOS and Android128. Return requests close 15 days after delivery, with a 5% restocking fee30. You get no listed subscription and up to 7 days a charge in sizes 12 and 1328.
- Circular Ring 2 gives up Oura’s 30-day return window. Returns run 14 days, the ring must be unused, and Circular keeps $25 of the refund3637. You get a $349 ring with a charging case, an on-demand single-lead ECG and no mandatory subscription3435.
- Oura Ring 4 isn’t a dupe but Oura’s previous ring, with the same $69.99-a-year membership36. It’s 7.90 mm wide and 2.88 mm thick, against 6.09 mm and 2.28 mm for Ring 515. You get $50 off the ring and up to 7 days of storage instead of 3246.
Ultrahuman vs Oura: which ring should you get?
Get Ultrahuman Ring PRO if you’d rather pay once and charge less often. It’s $479 with the charging case included, and Ultrahuman says there are no recurring fees for accessing your data14. Oura Ring 5 is $399 plus $69.99 a year, so three years come to $608.97 before tax34. Ultrahuman lists up to 15 days a charge, against 6 to 9 days for Ring 5114.
Get Oura Ring 5 if you want the slimmer ring and published, if older, evidence. Oura cites published studies for its accuracy figures, though they tested earlier rings89. Ultrahuman’s FAQ gives no figures for Ring PRO and names no study15. Some Ring PRO features cost extra as PowerPlugs, such as $24 for a year of Cardio Adaptability14.
Both take returns within 30 days. Ultrahuman pays return shipping, and Oura doesn’t refund the original shipping715. Ring PRO’s US sales rest on a March 2026 US Customs ruling that its redesign falls outside an ITC import ban won by Oura1819. The three-way comparison with WHOOP covers these two rings in more depth.
RingConn vs Oura: which ring should you get?
Get a RingConn if you won’t pay a membership. Gen 3 is $349 with a charging case, and Gen 2 Air is $199 with a wired dock2122. Neither has a subscription2122. RingConn rates Gen 3 at 10 to 14 days a charge and Gen 2 Air at up to 10, against 6 to 9 days for Oura Ring 512122.
Get Oura if you might change your mind. Oura takes a ring back within 30 days if it’s fully functional and undamaged7. RingConn takes returns within 14 days only for a valid reason such as a defect, and you pay return shipping23. RingConn’s warranty runs 1 year in the US and excludes battery replacement23.
RingConn publishes no accuracy figures or validation studies for either ring2122. Its operating range tops out at 104°F (40°C), so neither is for the sauna2122. RingConn settled with Oura in October 2025 and pays it royalties under a multi-year patent license25.
What a ring without a subscription really costs
Oura’s fee buys most of its app. The membership is $5.99 a month or $69.99 a year in the US, and paying monthly comes to $71.88 a year3. Without it, the app shows only the Readiness, Activity and Sleep scores, the ring battery, basic profile, settings and Explore content3. You can still export all your data as CSV3.
No required fee doesn’t mean nothing is sold on top. Ultrahuman sells some features as PowerPlugs, such as $39 for a year of Cycle & Ovulation Pro14. Its optional Max membership is $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year and includes UltrahumanX coverage, with accidental damage, loss and theft support14. Ultrahuman doesn’t state PowerPlug renewal prices after the first term14.
Circular says no subscription is mandatory, but its help center says the advanced parts of blood pressure and glucose are paid3440. Its Circular+ Guarantee add-on is $20 billed yearly34. RingConn lists no subscription for either ring, and Samsung’s Galaxy Ring page lists no fee for the features it describes212228.
None of these makers states a charger’s power draw, so charging electricity is left out of every total. The wearables cost page runs the same three-year math for bands and watches.
Battery, sensors and storage
Ultrahuman, RingConn Gen 3 and Circular include a charging case, and Gen 2 Air comes with a wired dock14212234. Samsung’s ring charges in its Galaxy Ring Charging Case, but Samsung doesn’t say what’s in the box28. Oura sells Ring 5’s Charging Case separately4.
Storage decides how long you can go without opening the app. Ring 5 holds up to 3 days, and Ring PRO up to 250217. Circular’s ring keeps 7 days and then overwrites the oldest, and Circular suggests syncing every 5 to 6 days42.
| Ring | Sensors | Battery and charging | Data stored on the ring | Thickness and weight | Water resistance |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Oura Ring 5 | Red, green and infrared LEDs with 2 photodetectors, a temperature sensor and an accelerometer12 | 6 to 9 days. About 80 minutes to charge. The Charging Case is sold separately124 | Up to 3 days2 | 2.28 mm thick, from 2 g depending on size12 | 100 m (328 ft), IP68. Oura says it’s not for diving12 |
| Oura Ring 4 | Red, green and infrared LEDs with 3 photodetectors, a digital temperature sensor and an accelerometer25 | 5 to 8 days. A charge takes 20 to 80 minutes, depending on battery level5 | Up to 7 days2 | 2.88 mm thick, 3.3 to 5.2 g depending on size5 | Up to 100 m (328 ft)5 |
| Ultrahuman Ring PRO | Temperature sensor, redesigned PPG sensor and 6-axis motion sensor1417 | Up to 15 days, or up to 45 days between wall charges with the included case. About 2.5 hours to charge141517 | Up to 250 days, with up to a year backed up to the case1417 | 2.65 mm thick (varies by size), 3.3 to 4.8 g1417 | 100 m (328 ft)1417 |
| RingConn Gen 3 | Optical heart-rate sensor, temperature sensor, 3-axis accelerometer and a vibration motor21 | 10 to 14 days, depending on vibration. About 90 minutes to charge the ring, with the case included21 | 10 days21 | 2.3 mm thick, 2.5 to 3.5 g21 | IP68 and 10 ATM, to 100 m (328 ft). Operating range 32°F to 104°F21 |
| RingConn Gen 2 Air | Not listed. RingConn says it tracks heart rate, HRV, SpO2 and skin temperature22 | Up to 10 days. About 90 minutes on the included wired dock22 | 5 to 7 days22 | 2 mm thick, 2.5 to 4 g22 | IP68, to 100 m (328 ft). Operating range 32°F to 104°F22 |
| Samsung Galaxy Ring | Accelerometer, optical bio-signal sensor and skin temperature sensor28 | Up to 7 days for sizes 12 and 13 and up to 6 days for smaller sizes. Samsung gives no figure for sizes 14 and 15. Up to 14 days away from an outlet with a fully charged case28 | Unknown | Not stated on Samsung’s ring page28 | 10ATM (100 m for up to 10 minutes) and IP6828 |
| Circular Ring 2 | Single-lead ECG, optical PPG (green, red and infrared), skin temperature and a 3-axis accelerometer3438 | About 8 days in power mode. The included wireless case recharges it in about 30 minutes34 | 7 days, then the oldest is overwritten42 | 2.55 mm and about 4 g on the product page. The science page says 2.6 mm and 4.5 g3438 | IP6834 |
Warranty: what each maker covers
Oura includes a 1-year protection plan with both rings and sells upgrades to 2 years for $45 or 3 years for $6046. The Ring 5 product page doesn’t say what the plan covers, such as battery wear, scratches or loss4.
Ultrahuman gives a 12-month limited warranty from delivery15. Its terms exclude batteries and cosmetic damage unless a defect caused the failure16. Loss and theft support comes only with the Max membership14.
RingConn’s warranty runs 1 year from delivery in the US. It excludes normal wear and tear, accidental damage and battery replacement23. Circular’s runs one year from delivery and excludes cosmetic damage and normal wear. It covers the battery only if a defect damaged the ring36. Circular says the battery can’t be replaced and offers a discount code toward a new ring if it weakens41.
Samsung’s Galaxy Ring page gives no warranty length. It links to Samsung’s general warranty page without giving terms28.
Are any of these rings banned in the US?
None is barred from US import, according to US International Trade Commission (ITC) notices through Oct 26, 2026 and a US Customs ruling. Ultrahuman Ring PRO gets in under a Customs ruling with conditions18. Two ITC cases that could lead to import bans, one against Oura and one against Samsung, are still open1333.
Ultrahuman’s US store listed Ring PRO for sale on Oct 23, 202614. RingConn’s US store listed every Gen 3 and Gen 2 Air color and size as available on Oct 202627. TechCrunch reported on March 24, 2026 that Ultrahuman opened US pre-orders after the ruling, and that Oura was weighing appeals20.
| Ring | US import status |
|---|---|
| Oura Ring 4 and Ring 5 | No exclusion order. In January 2026, the ITC opened Samsung’s patent case seeking to bar imports of Oura wearables (Investigation No. 337-TA-1478). The ITC’s notices through Oct 26, 2026 show the case still open, with no violation finding1113 |
| Ultrahuman Ring PRO | Allowed, with conditions. On August 21, 2025, the ITC barred imports of Ultrahuman rings that infringe an Oura patent, after finding that Ring AIR did (Investigation No. 337-TA-1398). In March 2026, US Customs ruled that Ring PRO’s redesigned unibody ring falls outside that order. Each import needs a certification that Customs approves1819 |
| RingConn Gen 3 and Gen 2 Air | Not barred. The same August 2025 ITC order covered infringing RingConn rings. The ITC removed RingConn from it in December 2025, after RingConn settled with Oura and licensed the patent192425 |
| Samsung Galaxy Ring | No exclusion order. In December 2025, the ITC opened Oura’s patent case seeking to bar imports of Samsung smart rings (Investigation No. 337-TA-1468). The ITC’s notices through Oct 26, 2026 show the case against Samsung still open, with no violation finding3133 |
| Circular Ring 2 | No exclusion order. Circular was named in Investigation No. 337-TA-1398, and the ITC ended the case against it on a settlement in July 202419. Oura says Circular holds a multi-year license, subject to royalties43. Oura’s newer case, 337-TA-1468, doesn’t name Circular31 |
What the accuracy claims don’t settle
We found no published validation study of any of these seven rings. Oura states 99% heart-rate accuracy, an r² against ECG, and 95% sleep-versus-wake accuracy against a sleep lab18. Oura’s blog traces the heart-rate figure to a 2020 study of 49 adults on an earlier ring8. The paper Oura’s footnote cites for the sleep figure tested a second-generation research ring over 440 nights from 106 people19. It reached 96% for sleep versus wake and 79% across four stages9.
A 2024 sleep-lab study tested the Oura Gen3 ring, not Ring 4 or Ring 5, in 35 healthy adults10. It agreed with polysomnography on 76.3% of 30-second epochs across wake, light, deep and REM sleep10. Agreement on nightly deep and REM totals was low (ICC 0.32 and 0.27, where 1 is perfect agreement)10. Oura funded the study10.
The other makers publish less. Ultrahuman’s FAQ says Ring PRO’s metrics are benchmarked against industry-leading fitness wearables, with no figures or named study15. RingConn gives no accuracy figures for Gen 3 or Gen 2 Air, and presents Gen 3’s vascular and sleep apnea insights as trends and risk indicators2122. Samsung’s Galaxy Ring page gives no accuracy figures for sleep staging, heart rate or skin temperature28.
Circular says its AFib classification uses an algorithm cleared by the FDA, but it names no algorithm maker or clearance number3439. An openFDA search for applicants named Circular on Oct 24, 2026 returned no ring or ECG record44. A clearance held by a supplier wouldn’t show under Circular’s name, though. Circular publishes no accuracy data for its blood pressure estimate, and its science page lists its own validation work as still in review3845.
Ultrahuman, RingConn (for Gen 3) and Circular each say their ring isn’t a medical device152139. Our evidence review covers what independent studies show about sleep staging, overnight heart rate and HRV across devices.
If you’d rather wear a band
Screen-free bands are the other way off Oura’s membership. One line each here, with prices checked on October 13, 2026 (Polar’s on October 23). Our band comparison covers WHOOP, Garmin and Fitbit in depth.
- Garmin CIRQA is $199.99, and Garmin says it works without a subscription. Garmin rates it at up to 10 days a charge46.
- Polar Loop is $199.99, and Polar says there are no monthly fees or locked features48.
- Google Fitbit Air starts at $99.99 with 3 months of Google Health Premium, which then costs $9.99 a month. Premium is optional, and Google says activity and sleep tracking stay free4950.
- WHOOP Peak goes the other way: WHOOP sells it only as a $239-a-year membership, with the strap included47.
