The verdict

The mPulse Aspire is a one-person cabin with far, mid and near infrared plus red light. It runs on 120 V but is rated at 2,160 W and needs a dedicated 20 A circuit. The catch: Sunlighten shows no price, and you can't return it once it's opened. If you want a listed price, the Signature I is $4,999 on sale.

The trade-off

Sunlighten publishes no price, and you can't return the cabin once the boxes are opened.

About this price

Price on request. On Oct 20, 2026, Sunlighten's Aspire and mPulse collection pages showed only "Get pricing" buttons and no dollar price. Its online store sells accessory packages for the mPulse line, not the sauna. Both pages carry a footnote that says "Sale ends 10/31/26" but names no model or price. Sunlighten offers Truemed checkout and Wells Fargo financing. Those are ways to pay, not prices.

A GOOD FIT FOR

One person with a dedicated 120 V, 20 A circuit who wants red light and several infrared wavelengths in one cabin.

  • One person who wants built-in red and near-infrared light plus mid and far infrared in one cabin
  • A spot with a dedicated 120 V, 20 A circuit and NEMA 5-20 outlet, or room to add one
  • About 44 × 42 in of indoor floor, with 4 in to the walls and 6 in above the cabin
  • You're happy to ask a sauna consultant for a price before you decide

THINK TWICE IF

  • You want a price you can check online before talking to anyone
  • Two people who want to share sessions, since the bench is 37.8 in wide and seats one
  • A home where you can't add a dedicated 20 A circuit
  • An address without a flat, paved path for the freight pallet, since the carrier won't carry it up steps
  • You might want to return it after opening the boxes
  • A spot within 5 ft of a shower, tub or cold plunge, which voids the warranty
  • You have a pacemaker: Sunlighten says the magnets used to assemble its saunas can interrupt pacing, so ask your doctor first
What still needs checking
  • The price, and which models the Sale ends 10/31/26 footnote covers
  • A ship date or lead time for the Aspire, since the shipping page says the estimated ship date varies by model
  • Whether any EMF measurement covers the Aspire, since the Vitatech report tested other models and the safety page's 0.5 mG figure gives no model or distance
  • The ETL file number and which models it covers
  • A top cabin temperature
  • Average power draw once the cabin is up to temperature
  • The minimum doorway width its panels and cartons need
  • Whether the 7-year heater warranty covers the red and near-infrared LED panels
  • Whether your local code requires GFCI protection, and what an electrician would charge
  • The tablet's screen size, and whether there's an automatic shut-off
  • Whether the sauna works without Wi-Fi, since the spec sheet lists dual-band Wi-Fi as required and Sunlighten doesn't say

How much power does the Sunlighten mPulse Aspire need?

It needs a dedicated 120 V, 20 A circuit and outlet, and Sunlighten rates it at 18 A and 2,160 W34. The plug is a NEMA 5-20, and the cord is 10 ft long3. The assembly guide says to plug it straight into the wall, with no power strip, extension cord or converter4.

A non-dedicated circuit voids the warranty6. Sunlighten gives no average draw, but its owner’s manual estimates running cost at $0.20 to $0.50 an hour15. The 2,160 W rating is the only power figure3.

How much does the Sunlighten mPulse Aspire cost?

Sunlighten doesn’t publish a price for the mPulse Aspire12. Its pages offer a Get pricing form, and its online store sells accessory packages for the mPulse line but not the sauna14.

Beyond the sauna itself, Sunlighten doesn’t price the electrical work for the dedicated circuit34. An unopened return can cost a $499 restocking fee, a 3% administrative fee, storage and return shipping, and an opened sauna can’t be returned7.

How hot does the Sunlighten mPulse Aspire get?

Sunlighten doesn’t state a top temperature for the mPulse Aspire13. Its wellness programs aim for 120 to 130°F, and you can preheat by hand to 130 to 140°F5.

Sunlighten says the cabin warms about 1°F a minute and suggests 45 to 60 minutes of preheat5. Those are Sunlighten’s figures, not measurements.

Before you buy

InstallationIt needs a dedicated 120 V, 20 A circuit and outlet with a NEMA 5-20 plug

It needs a dedicated 120 V, 20 A circuit and outlet with a NEMA 5-20 plug. Sunlighten's assembly guide rates it at 120 V, 18 A and 2,160 W. The 10 ft cord exits at the back left of the floor and must plug straight into the wall. The assembly guide says to add a GFCI or dual-function breaker only if your local code requires one. The spec sheet says dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 and 5 GHz) is required, while the product page says recommended. Freight goes to a garage or a flat, paved driveway, where the carrier leaves it on a pallet and can't carry it up steps. You need two people to unpack and assemble it, which Sunlighten's FAQ puts at 1 to 2 hours, and professional installation isn't required.

WarrantySunlighten's warranty page gives the cabinetry and heaters 7 years for home use…

Sunlighten's warranty page gives the cabinetry and heaters 7 years for home use, and one set of terms covers its mPulse, Signature and Amplify cabins. Coverage is for replacement parts only, with no labor or technician costs. You pay freight on parts shipped for service, and the page excludes costs or freight for parts shipped more than 90 days after delivery. Controls (tablet, control pad and power box) get 3 years, the glass door and audio get 1 year. Chromotherapy and the Blaupunkt sound system carry a separate 1-year manufacturer's warranty. Commercial use gets 5 years on the cabinetry and heaters and 1 year on controls, glass and audio. It covers only the original buyer and ends if you transfer ownership, and the sauna must be bought and put into use within a year of its manufacture date. It's void if the sauna is altered, misused or exposed to water. It's also void on a power strip, extension cord, converter or non-dedicated circuit. The same goes for a spot within 5 ft of a shower, tub or cold plunge, or a repair attempted without consulting Sunlighten. Sunlighten says its saunas aren't designed for outdoor use, and outdoors the separately sold cover must stay on at all times, even during sessions. The page doesn't say whether the red and near-infrared LED panels count as heaters.

ReturnsYou have 30 days from delivery to return it, but only while it's unopened…

You have 30 days from delivery to return it, but only while it's unopened in its original packaging. Opened saunas can't be returned or exchanged. Fees can include a 3% administrative fee and a $499 restocking fee for each mPulse sauna. They can also include storage fees, return shipping to the warehouse and shipping back to you on an exchange. To cancel before it ships, email your sales representative, and the same fees may apply. To return it, email your sales representative for an authorization, or Sunlighten's logistics team if you have none. Sunlighten then schedules the pickup and refunds your original payment method after it inspects and restocks the sauna. Sunlighten reserves the right to refuse a return, exchange or cancellation.

More about this assessment

The Sunlighten mPulse Aspire is a one-person infrared cabin with five far-infrared heaters, four mid-infrared heaters and three near-infrared and red-light LED panels. Sunlighten rates it at 120 V, 18 A and 2,160 W and requires a dedicated 20 A circuit. It shows no price, only a Get pricing form. The cabinet and heaters get 7 years of home-use warranty, but labor isn't covered. An opened sauna can't be returned, and an unopened return can cost a $499 restocking fee.

Strengths on paper

  • Five far-infrared, four mid-infrared and three near-infrared and red LED panels, with the wavelengths controlled separately
  • Runs on 120 V household power, with a published 2,160 W rating and 18 A draw
  • Sunlighten publishes dimensions, weight, bench size and clearances on a spec sheet
  • Seven years on the cabinetry and heaters for home use
  • Built-in tablet and app for scheduling, preheat and six preset programs
  • Two people assemble it in about 1 to 2 hours, per Sunlighten, and professional installation isn't required

Limitations

  • Sunlighten shows no price, only a Get pricing form
  • It needs its own 120 V, 20 A circuit, and Sunlighten doesn't price the electrical work
  • At 18 A, it uses 90% of that 20 A circuit, so nothing else can share it
  • Opened saunas can't be returned, and unopened returns can cost a $499 restocking fee, a 3% fee, storage and return shipping
  • The warranty excludes labor, and you pay freight on parts shipped for service
  • Only the cabinetry and heaters get 7 years: controls get 3, and the glass door and audio get 1
  • The warranty ends if you sell the sauna
  • The Vitatech EMF report on Sunlighten's site didn't test the Aspire
  • Sunlighten publishes no top temperature or average power draw

PLAN YOUR OWNERSHIP COSTS

What will it cost to own?

Change the assumptions to fit your use. Leave an unknown cost blank. Add water, subscriptions, cleaning, shipping and taxes if they apply. Use average operating power, not the maximum rating.

3-year known subtotal

$319.30

Incomplete: purchase price, installation, other annual costs. This is not the full ownership cost.

Energy component: $319.30

Purchase + installation + years × (annual consumables + annual other) + watts/1000 × hours/day × 365 × years × $/kWh. Annualized allowances, not an exact replacement schedule. Excludes taxes, shipping, finance and resale unless entered.
Replacement parts & cost assumptions

Recorded recurring parts and refills:

  • Natural Cleaning Kit (optional): $39. Sunlighten's cleaning guide lists the kit (glass cleaner, sauna cleaner, a 150-grit sponge and a microfiber cloth) and gives daily, weekly and monthly routines. It gives no replacement interval or number of cleanings per kit, so the kit isn't counted in the yearly total.
  • Purchase is unknown. Sunlighten shows no price for the mPulse Aspire on Oct 20, 2026, so there's no three-year total.
  • Installation cost is unknown. You assemble it yourself, two people for about 1 to 2 hours per Sunlighten's FAQ. If the spot has no dedicated 120 V, 20 A circuit with a NEMA 5-20 outlet, you'll need one added, and Sunlighten doesn't price that work.
  • Sunlighten lists no required replacement part, so annual consumables are $0. Repairs and warranty labor are on you.
  • Sunlighten's cleaning guide mentions a $39 Natural Cleaning Kit but gives no replacement interval, so it isn't counted.
  • Energy assumes about 0.75 hours a day, from Sunlighten's 30 to 45 minute sessions three to four times a week plus preheat. At the 2,160 W rating that's an upper estimate of about 591 kWh a year, or $106 at $0.18 per kWh. Sunlighten's owner's manual separately estimates $0.20 to $0.50 an hour.
  • Sunlighten lists no subscription or app fee, so other yearly costs stay unknown.

Evidence & sources.

Are saunas good for you? Our evidence review grades the research as Moderate. That grade is about the claim, not about this product.

  • Manufacturer claimSize, weight, heater count, electrical rating, cartons and assembly steps come from Sunlighten's Aspire product page, spec sheet and assembly guide.134 These are Sunlighten's figures, and none was measured independently. The assembly guide gives the 18 A draw, and the spec sheet lists 20 A as the circuit.
  • Manufacturer claimSunlighten shows no price for the mPulse Aspire. Its pages offer a Get pricing form, and its online store sells only accessory packages for the mPulse line.1214 The store's mPulse search returns accessory packages, such as the Ultimate Rejuvenation Package, not the sauna.
  • Manufacturer claimSunlighten says its saunas are ETL-certified and points to the Intertek Directory to check.39 The Aspire spec sheet shows an ETL mark (US and Canada) beside RoHS, CE and TÜV logos, with no file number or test standard. Ask Sunlighten for the file number before you buy.
  • Manufacturer claimSunlighten says its heater panels measure 0.5 mG, less than 1 mG, and links an EMF test report by Vitatech Electromagnetics.910 The linked report (VTE-3200) didn't test the Aspire. It records maximum magnetic fields of 0.11 to 0.86 mG RMS in five other models, measured on Nov 5, 2020, in Sunlighten's Lenexa, Kansas warehouse. The safety page's 0.5 mG figure gives no model or distance. Sunlighten's FAQ says swapping some near-infrared LEDs for red LEDs didn't change EMF levels, with no new test cited.
  • Manufacturer claimSunlighten says its wellness programs are built from 37 clinical studies. Its Heart Health program cites a 6.5 mmHg drop in systolic blood pressure from a 2005 UMKC study.12 That's Sunlighten's marketing claim. The page names no authors, journal or study design, and the study used Sunlighten's SoloCarbon heaters, not necessarily the Aspire. The page also says the products are general wellness products, not medical devices, and aren't intended to treat, cure or prevent disease.
  • Manufacturer claimSunlighten's contraindications page says the magnets used to assemble its saunas can interrupt the pacing and inhibit the output of pacemakers.11 The page doesn't name models, but it says the magnets are used to assemble its saunas. It also tells pregnant women, and people with heart disease, abnormal blood pressure, circulatory problems, diabetes or obesity, to consult a physician first. For children and older adults, it advises a lower temperature and no more than 15 minutes at a time. These are Sunlighten's precautions, not evidence of a benefit.
