Choose ifOne adult, or two smaller adults, with a dedicated 15 A circuit and about 39 × 38 in of floor space who want a low price.A solo user with about 42.5 × 48.25 in of floor space who wants full-spectrum heaters running off a standard 120V, 15A outlet. Two or three people who share sessions, with a dedicated 20 A circuit and about 63 × 46 in of indoor floor.
Main trade-offThe interior is narrow for two, no EMF report or safety listing is published, and a return costs 20% plus freight. The price is quote-only, and the 14.6 A draw leaves little headroom on a 15 A circuit.Sunlighten's product page and spec sheet disagree on voltage, and opened saunas can't be returned.
Key specifications
  • Heaters: 6 carbon low-EMF emitters. The manual's diagram labels four wall emitters at 300 W each (two on the back wall, one on each side) and two at 200 W each (a bench emitter and a floor emitter). Dynamic gives no total wattage
  • Electrical: 120 V, 15 A, dedicated circuit required per the manual's cover. No rated total wattage is published. The diagram's emitter labels add up to 1,600 W if every emitter runs at once, about 13.3 A at 120 V. No extension cords, adapters or surge protectors
  • Capacity and interior: Sold as 1-2 person. Inside: 36 W × 32 D × 67 H in. Dynamic's 2-person San Marino lists 43 × 37 × 68 in inside
  • Temperature and heat-up: The controls go up to 150°F, but the manual says the cabin will most likely never reach it. Typical heat-up per the manual: about 20 minutes to 100°F, 25 to 30 minutes to about 115 to 120°F, and 45 to 60 minutes to about 135°F, depending on the model. The usual setting is 118 to 122°F. The timer runs 5 to 60 minutes, and the sauna shuts off after 75 minutes without input
  • EMF: The manual says Dynamic's Low EMF models average 5 to 10 mG at about 2 in from the heater panel. It gives no figure, test method or report for the Barcelona itself
  • Controls and extras: LED control panel inside and outside, a Bluetooth music system with two speakers and a pre-amp (no radio), an MP3 aux jack, a reading light, chromotherapy lighting, a red light button and a roof vent. The product page says the red light feature starts with 2024 models and gives no wavelength. The manual describes Wi-Fi on/off control with a separate instruction sheet in the accessory box
  • Weight: 250 lb assembled, 300 lb shipping weight, 1 box
  • Delivery and assembly: Freight to the curb or end of the driveway, one box on a pallet. Two adults assemble it with clasp-together panels
  • Warranty (residential): 5 years on heating elements and electronics, 1 year on wood structure and glass. Parts only, no labor
  • Options: The Barcelona Elite (DYN-6106-01 Elite) has the same size with six PureTech ultra low EMF emitters. The manual gives 3 to 5 mG for Elite models. The San Marino is Dynamic's 2-person model with a 43 × 37 in interior
  • Recall status: Not named in CPSC recall 26-784, and Golden Designs says its products aren't part of that recall
  • Heaters: Two 500 W True Wave full-spectrum heaters on the front wall. True Wave far-infrared heaters cover the back and side walls, the calves and the floor. Clearlight doesn't state their count or wattage

  • Capacity: Built for 1 adult
  • Weight: 425 lb
  • Operating temperature: Clearlight's FAQ says cabins typically reach 115 to 125°F even when set to 150°F. Another FAQ answer says 115 to 130°F. Neither figure is specific to this cabin
  • Controls and extras: Digital keypad (temperature, time, lights, heater intensity, reservation mode), smartphone control, Bluetooth/AUX audio and charging station, 12-color chromotherapy. Red light therapy upgrade available
  • EMF: Clearlight markets the heaters as low EMF and ELF and says they cancel both. Its FAQ says True Wave heaters measure less than 1 mG (printed as "1mg") directly on the heater. It names no test standard or lab for that figure
  • Heaters: 7 SoloCarbon far-infrared heaters and 3 full-spectrum heaters. Wattage of each isn't stated
  • Electrical: Dedicated 20 A circuit and outlet. The product page says 120 V and gives no wattage. The spec sheet and manual say 240 V, 3,280 W, 13.67 A and a NEMA 6-20 outlet. Get Sunlighten's answer in writing

Dynamic doesn't publish the bench size or seat height, the door size or the cord length. The cabin weighs 250 lb and has a shipping weight of 300 lb in one box. The manual recommends 1 to 2 in of clearance around the cabin and 10 to 12 in above it.Exterior 42.5 W × 48.25 D × 77 H in. Interior 37.5 W × 45.5 D × 72.5 H in. Bench 35.5 W × 21.75 D × 19 H in. If you build it into an enclosed space, Clearlight recommends leaving 4 in around the sauna.Outside: 62.3 W × 45.9 D × 77.7 H in, including 2 in feet. Inside: 56.8 W × 39.9 D × 70.3 H in. The door opening is 28 in. Sunlighten says the cabin fits under a standard 8 ft ceiling and its panels fit through a standard 30 in doorway.
InstallationIt plugs into a 120 V, 15 A outlet. The manual's cover says a 120 VAC, 15 A dedicated circuit is required, and it says no other appliance should run on the same breaker while the sauna is on. It bans adapters, surge protectors and extension cords between the sauna cord and the outlet. The manual gives no GFCI guidance. The cabin is for indoor use only, on a dry, level spot away from water, and placing it outdoors voids the warranty. Dynamic ships by freight carrier to the curb or the end of the driveway. The box is strapped to a pallet, and the driver isn't obligated to move it closer to the house. You need two or more people to unstrap and remove the box, and the carrier phones 24 to 48 hours ahead to set a window of about four hours. Dynamic can cancel delivery to islands or remote areas and may add a fee. The panels clasp together with buckles, and the manual says two adults are needed to assemble it. Dynamic gives no assembly time, no delivery lead time and no installation price. It plugs into a standard 120 V, 15 A household outlet with a NEMA 5-15P plug. The product page doesn't say it needs a dedicated circuit. Shipping is advertised as free. The sauna arrives by freight with lift-gate service at a scheduled delivery appointment, and someone 18 or older must sign for it. Clearlight says two people usually assemble it in about 1 to 1.5 hours with a screwdriver and the included Allen wrench. Its FAQ says 1 to 3 hours. Clearlight offers installation service in some areas but doesn't state a price. It needs a dedicated 20 A circuit and outlet. The product page says 120 V. The spec sheet and owner's manual say 240 V, 3,280 W, 13.67 A and a NEMA 6-20 outlet (see the Electrical row). The manual recommends a GFCI or dual-function breaker, so check your local code. Freight delivery needs a flat, paved surface up to your garage door, and the carrier leaves the sauna there on a pallet and can't carry it up steps. It comes in two to three mattress-sized boxes of 130 lb each. The Magne-Seal panels lock together without screws or nails, and Sunlighten says two people take about 2 to 3 hours.
MaterialsNatural hemlock wood, with a tempered glass door. Dynamic's About page describes its line as all Canadian hemlock fir construction. Dynamic doesn't state the wood grade, finish, adhesives or any emissions test. The manual says surface cracks from kiln-dried wood expanding and contracting aren't defects.Mahogany or basswood. Clearlight calls it furniture-grade natural wood and notes that grain and color vary from cabin to cabin. It's eucalyptus in Sunlighten's black Obsidian finish. Plain eucalyptus costs the same, and basswood is $200 less. It comes with a CELLIANT heater cover. Sunlighten says its eucalyptus is sustainably sourced. It also says the glue on the tongue-and-groove boards is non-toxic and was third-party tested by Franklin International.
WarrantyFive years on heating elements and electronics for residential use, with 1 year on the wood structure and glass, per the owner's manual. The manual's warranty page is headed "Limited Lifetime Warranty" and then describes a 5 Year Limited Warranty on wood, structure, heating elements and electronics for "1 to 5 years" from purchase. A footnote sets 5 years for residential use and 1 year for commercial use on the elements and electronics. The warranty covers parts, not labor. You prepay shipping on any part you send back and insure it, and you need proof of purchase. Coverage is for the original purchaser at the original site and ends on transfer or relocation. It's void outdoors, after modification, after repairs by anyone Golden Designs hasn't authorized, and with a worn-out receptacle. The manual asks you to register within 60 days of purchase. Dynamic's counterfeit warning says products bought outside its authorized channels aren't warranted or supported.Clearlight says its residential Limited Lifetime Warranty covers the entire sauna for as long as you own it. That includes the heaters, control panels, electrical components, wood cabin, audio and chromotherapy lighting. Parts and shipping are covered for life, but labor isn't. The warranty page says labor is covered for an initial period without giving its length. The owner's manual, which lists Sanctuary 1, sets labor at 7 years for indoor home use in the US and Canada, counted from the purchase date. The manual says the warranty can't be transferred without written consent from Sauna Works, which issues it. Commercial use carries a 5-year warranty. The warranty page says registration is automatic when the sauna ships, while the manual asks you to register within 30 days of purchase.Sunlighten's warranty covers replacement parts only, not labor or technician costs, and you pay all freight, including on parts shipped for service. For home use, the cabinet and heaters get 7 years, the controls 3 years, and the glass door and audio 1 year. Commercial use gets 5 years on the cabinet and heaters and 1 year on everything else. Coverage is for the original buyer only and ends if you sell the sauna, and the sauna must be bought and put into use within a year of its manufacture date. It's void on a power strip, extension cord, converter or shared circuit, or within 5 ft of a shower, bathtub or cold plunge. Sunlighten says its saunas aren't designed for outdoor use, and outdoors its cover (sold separately) has to stay on at all times, even during sessions.
ReturnsOrders can be canceled within 24 hours of purchase, and returns must be processed within 30 days of delivery. You need a return authorization number first, and the sauna must be new, unused and in its original packaging. Each cancellation or return carries a 20% handling and restocking fee per sauna, storage and routing costs, and all shipping to and from Dynamic. Without an authorization number Dynamic won't accept the shipment. Refunds follow within 5 business days after the sauna reaches the warehouse and passes inspection. Dynamic can refuse a refund if it finds damage or you break the policy. You carry the risk of loss on the return.Clearlight calls it a "30 Day Risk-Free Return Policy," but a return isn't free. You have 30 business days from receipt and need a return authorization (RMA). The sauna must be in new or like-new condition, with undamaged original packaging and all manuals. Clearlight deducts a 25% restocking charge and the original shipping charges. If the sauna shipped under a free or discounted shipping promotion, that means the actual freight cost. You also pay return shipping. Custom, private-label and non-standard models are non-refundable. Orders canceled before shipment are fully refunded. Concealed damage must be reported within 5 business days of delivery. You have 30 days from delivery to start a return, but only while the sauna is unopened in its original packaging. Opened saunas can't be returned or exchanged. Charges can include a 3% administrative fee, a $499 restocking fee, storage fees and return shipping to the warehouse. Cancelling before it ships can cost the 3% fee, plus storage fees if the sauna has to be re-routed. Sunlighten reserves the right to refuse a return, exchange or cancellation. It refunds to your original payment method after it inspects and restocks the sauna.
