Key specifications
  • Heaters: 5 far-infrared, 4 mid-infrared and 3 near-infrared and red LED panels. Sunlighten says its PulseIQ platform controls the four wavelengths separately. Per-heater wattage isn't stated
  • Red and near-infrared light: Sunlighten says the LED panels peak at 650 nm (red) and 880 nm (near-infrared) and deliver 1 to 3 mW/cm² to the skin. It says that's lower than dedicated LED devices. No independent measurement is given
  • Electrical: 120 V, 18 A, 2,160 W per the assembly guide. Dedicated 120 V, 20 A circuit with a NEMA 5-20 outlet. 10 ft cord. Dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 and 5 GHz)
  • Inside and seating: 37.8 W × 35.6 D × 71.5 H in. One bench, 37.8 W × 21.7 D in and 20.2 in off the floor, for one person
  • Outside and weight: 43.6 W × 41.6 D × 79 H in with feet. 463 lb in eucalyptus, 432 lb in basswood. Leave 4 in to the walls and 6 in above
  • Heat: Sunlighten says it warms about 1°F a minute and suggests 45 to 60 minutes of preheat. Its wellness programs aim for 120 to 130°F, and you can preheat to 130 to 140°F by hand. No top temperature is stated
  • Controls: Built-in tablet and Sunlighten app to start, preheat (up to 60 minutes), schedule and adjust sessions. Six preset programs plus a custom one. Screen size isn't stated
  • Delivery and assembly: Freight to a garage or flat, paved driveway, left on a pallet. Two cartons, 46 × 7 × 48 in and 47 × 17 × 76 in. Two people assemble it, about 1 to 2 hours per Sunlighten's FAQ
  • Safety listing: Sunlighten says its saunas are ETL-certified. The spec sheet shows an ETL mark (US and Canada) beside RoHS, CE and TÜV logos, with no file number
  • Running cost: Sunlighten's owner's manual estimates $0.20 to $0.50 an hour. The 2,160 W figure is the electrical rating, and Sunlighten gives no average power draw
  • Extras: Chromotherapy lights with a remote, ceiling speakers, CELLIANT heater covers and a ceiling vent
  • Cleaning: Wipe the bench and floor after each use, wipe all wood weekly with Sunlighten's natural cleaner and wipe heater surfaces monthly. Clear dust from the power box heat sinks twice a year
  • Heaters: 6 carbon low-EMF emitters. The manual's diagram labels four wall emitters at 300 W each (two on the back wall, one on each side) and two at 200 W each (a bench emitter and a floor emitter). Dynamic gives no total wattage
  • Electrical: 120 V, 15 A, dedicated circuit required per the manual's cover. No rated total wattage is published. The diagram's emitter labels add up to 1,600 W if every emitter runs at once, about 13.3 A at 120 V. No extension cords, adapters or surge protectors
  • Capacity and interior: Sold as 1-2 person. Inside: 36 W × 32 D × 67 H in. Dynamic's 2-person San Marino lists 43 × 37 × 68 in inside
  • Temperature and heat-up: The controls go up to 150°F, but the manual says the cabin will most likely never reach it. Typical heat-up per the manual: about 20 minutes to 100°F, 25 to 30 minutes to about 115 to 120°F, and 45 to 60 minutes to about 135°F, depending on the model. The usual setting is 118 to 122°F. The timer runs 5 to 60 minutes, and the sauna shuts off after 75 minutes without input
  • EMF: The manual says Dynamic's Low EMF models average 5 to 10 mG at about 2 in from the heater panel. It gives no figure, test method or report for the Barcelona itself
  • Controls and extras: LED control panel inside and outside, a Bluetooth music system with two speakers and a pre-amp (no radio), an MP3 aux jack, a reading light, chromotherapy lighting, a red light button and a roof vent. DimensionsOutside: 43.6 W × 41.6 D × 79 H in, including 2 in feet. Inside: 37.8 W × 35.6 D × 71.5 H in. The bench is 37.8 in wide and 21.7 in deep, 20.2 in off the floor. It weighs 463 lb in eucalyptus and 432 lb in basswood. Sunlighten recommends 4 in to the walls and 6 in above the cabin. Sunlighten gives no minimum doorway width and asks you to measure doorways and hallways before you buy.Outside: 39 W × 36 D × 73 H in, and the roof overhang adds 2 in to the depth. The manual's diagram shows 38.3 in wide and 71.9 in tall. Inside: 36 W × 32 D × 67 H in. Dynamic doesn't publish the bench size or seat height, the door size or the cord length. The cabin weighs 250 lb and has a shipping weight of 300 lb in one box. The manual recommends 1 to 2 in of clearance around the cabin and 10 to 12 in above it.
InstallationIt needs a dedicated 120 V, 20 A circuit and outlet with a NEMA 5-20 plug. Sunlighten's assembly guide rates it at 120 V, 18 A and 2,160 W. The 10 ft cord exits at the back left of the floor and must plug straight into the wall. The assembly guide says to add a GFCI or dual-function breaker only if your local code requires one. The spec sheet says dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 and 5 GHz) is required, while the product page says recommended. Freight goes to a garage or a flat, paved driveway, where the carrier leaves it on a pallet and can't carry it up steps. You need two people to unpack and assemble it, which Sunlighten's FAQ puts at 1 to 2 hours, and professional installation isn't required. It plugs into a 120 V, 15 A outlet. The manual's cover says a 120 VAC, 15 A dedicated circuit is required, and it says no other appliance should run on the same breaker while the sauna is on. It bans adapters, surge protectors and extension cords between the sauna cord and the outlet. The manual gives no GFCI guidance. The cabin is for indoor use only, on a dry, level spot away from water, and placing it outdoors voids the warranty. Dynamic ships by freight carrier to the curb or the end of the driveway. The box is strapped to a pallet, and the driver isn't obligated to move it closer to the house. You need two or more people to unstrap and remove the box, and the carrier phones 24 to 48 hours ahead to set a window of about four hours. Dynamic can cancel delivery to islands or remote areas and may add a fee. The panels clasp together with buckles, and the manual says two adults are needed to assemble it. Dynamic gives no assembly time, no delivery lead time and no installation price.
MaterialsSunlighten says each sauna is built from sustainably sourced eucalyptus with natural variation in tone and grain. Its spec sheet also lists basswood. It lists kiln-dried wood, thick insulation, a glass front door and side glass, and CELLIANT fabric covers over the heaters on the interior walls. Its safety page calls the glue non-toxic, citing testing by Franklin International.Natural hemlock wood, with a tempered glass door. Dynamic's About page describes its line as all Canadian hemlock fir construction. Dynamic doesn't state the wood grade, finish, adhesives or any emissions test. The manual says surface cracks from kiln-dried wood expanding and contracting aren't defects.
WarrantySunlighten's warranty page gives the cabinetry and heaters 7 years for home use, and one set of terms covers its mPulse, Signature and Amplify cabins. Coverage is for replacement parts only, with no labor or technician costs. You pay freight on parts shipped for service, and the page excludes costs or freight for parts shipped more than 90 days after delivery. Controls (tablet, control pad and power box) get 3 years, the glass door and audio get 1 year. Chromotherapy and the Blaupunkt sound system carry a separate 1-year manufacturer's warranty. Commercial use gets 5 years on the cabinetry and heaters and 1 year on controls, glass and audio. It covers only the original buyer and ends if you transfer ownership, and the sauna must be bought and put into use within a year of its manufacture date. It's void if the sauna is altered, misused or exposed to water. It's also void on a power strip, extension cord, converter or non-dedicated circuit. The same goes for a spot within 5 ft of a shower, tub or cold plunge, or a repair attempted without consulting Sunlighten. Sunlighten says its saunas aren't designed for outdoor use, and outdoors the separately sold cover must stay on at all times, even during sessions. The page doesn't say whether the red and near-infrared LED panels count as heaters.Five years on heating elements and electronics for residential use, with 1 year on the wood structure and glass, per the owner's manual. The manual's warranty page is headed "Limited Lifetime Warranty" and then describes a 5 Year Limited Warranty on wood, structure, heating elements and electronics for "1 to 5 years" from purchase. A footnote sets 5 years for residential use and 1 year for commercial use on the elements and electronics. The warranty covers parts, not labor. You prepay shipping on any part you send back and insure it, and you need proof of purchase. Coverage is for the original purchaser at the original site and ends on transfer or relocation. It's void outdoors, after modification, after repairs by anyone Golden Designs hasn't authorized, and with a worn-out receptacle. The manual asks you to register within 60 days of purchase. Dynamic's counterfeit warning says products bought outside its authorized channels aren't warranted or supported.
ReturnsYou have 30 days from delivery to return it, but only while it's unopened in its original packaging. Opened saunas can't be returned or exchanged. Fees can include a 3% administrative fee and a $499 restocking fee for each mPulse sauna. They can also include storage fees, return shipping to the warehouse and shipping back to you on an exchange. To cancel before it ships, email your sales representative, and the same fees may apply. To return it, email your sales representative for an authorization, or Sunlighten's logistics team if you have none. Sunlighten then schedules the pickup and refunds your original payment method after it inspects and restocks the sauna. Sunlighten reserves the right to refuse a return, exchange or cancellation.Orders can be canceled within 24 hours of purchase, and returns must be processed within 30 days of delivery. You need a return authorization number first, and the sauna must be new, unused and in its original packaging. Each cancellation or return carries a 20% handling and restocking fee per sauna, storage and routing costs, and all shipping to and from Dynamic. Without an authorization number Dynamic won't accept the shipment. Refunds follow within 5 business days after the sauna reaches the warehouse and passes inspection. Dynamic can refuse a refund if it finds damage or you break the policy. You carry the risk of loss on the return.
