The verdict

The Chilipad Cube One Sleeper Half King cools and heats one side of a King bed with a water-based pad, and it needs no app or subscription. It's for one sleeper who wants active cooling and heating for $719 on sale ($799 list). The catch: Sleepme's FAQ says it cools the bed about 10°F below room air, so the advertised "as low as 60°F" depends on your room.

The trade-off

Cooling depends on room temperature, the standard warranty is only 1 year, and the product page doesn't publish power, noise or maintenance details.

About this price

The $719 is a sale price on Sleepme's product page for the One Sleeper Half King. It was marked "Save 10%" against a $799 list price. It sat under a "10% Off Original Chilipad" banner marked "No Code Needed." It isn't a coupon or member price. The page said "Ships in 1-3 business days." The Half Cal King showed the same sale and list prices, and the Half Queen was out of stock. Two Sleeper (dual-zone) prices weren't shown. The price is before tax, and ground shipping is listed as free to the 48 contiguous states.

A GOOD FIT FOR

One sleeper who wants active cooling and heating on their half of a King bed, without an app, Wi-Fi or membership.

  • You want water-based cooling and heating on your half of a King bed
  • You want no app, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or subscription
  • A couple with different temperature preferences, using the Two Sleepers option (price not shown) or a second single-zone system added later
  • An adjustable or split-adjustable bed, with the control unit at the foot of the bed

THINK TWICE IF

  • A hot bedroom where 10°F below room air would still feel too warm, since the product page ties cooling to room temperature
  • Anyone who wants sleep tracking, app scheduling or smart-home control
  • Anyone who wants more than a 1-year standard warranty, since neither the product page nor the warranty page shows the extension's length or price
  • A bed frame with less than 8 in of clearance, if you want the control unit underneath
What still needs checking
  • Average power draw, nightly run time and noise level
  • Water reservoir capacity, water type, and the refill or cleaning schedule
  • The cost of any maintenance supplies
  • Pad and control-unit dimensions and weights
  • What's in the box: the set is labeled "Cube + Cool Mesh Pad" and the FAQ says a remote with batteries is included, but the What's Included heading has no list
  • Which parts are machine-washable and dryable
  • Protection Plan (extended warranty) length, price and terms
  • Refund timing, minimum nights and packaging requirements for trial returns
  • Regulatory status, since FDA databases weren't checked for this review

Before you buy

InstallationThe pad goes on top of your existing mattress, and Sleepme says any mattress works

The pad goes on top of your existing mattress, and Sleepme says any mattress works. It calls the Cube "plug-and-play" and lists "Easy Installation." The control unit fits under bed frames with 8 in or more of clearance. Sleepme says the Chilipad works with adjustable and split-adjustable beds. It recommends two single-zone systems for a split-adjustable bed and suggests putting the control units at the foot of the bed. You don't need Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or an app account. Sleepme doesn't state electrical requirements on the product page.

WarrantyThe Cube has a 1-year limited warranty, with an option to extend coverage

The Cube has a 1-year limited warranty, with an option to extend coverage. Sleepme's warranty terms give 1 year on the Cube control unit and 1 year on sleep pads. Exclusions include cleaning or maintaining the control unit, or washing the pad, in a way that doesn't follow Sleepme's instructions. They also include improper voltage or power supply, use outside the intended uses, and commercial use such as hotels or hospitals. Neither the product page nor the warranty page states the length or price of the extension (the Protection Plan).

ReturnsThere's a 30-night sleep trial with free returns

There's a 30-night sleep trial with free returns. Sleepme's warranty terms say the trial runs 30 days from delivery, and you must request a return within that period. Sleepme must then receive the product within 30 days of the request. Returns within the first 30 days aren't charged shipping and handling, but expedited shipping fees aren't refunded. If you buy from an authorized dealer, the dealer's return policy applies. Sleep-system purchases made November 4 through December 25 get an extended trial through January 25 of the following year. The pages checked don't state refund timing, minimum nights or packaging requirements.

More about this assessment

The Chilipad Cube is Sleepme's entry-level water-based pad for cooling and heating a mattress. The One Sleeper Half King covers one side of a King bed and was $719 on sale ($799 list) on October 13, 2026. You control it with buttons or the included remote, with no app, Wi-Fi or subscription. Sleepme's FAQ says it cools the bed about 10°F below room air, so the page's "as low as 60°F" depends on your room. The standard warranty is 1 year. Sleepme doesn't publish power draw, water capacity or noise, so running costs are unknown.

  • Sleepme lists the system as machine-washable and dryable
  • 30-night sleep trial with free returns, plus free ground shipping to the 48 contiguous states

  • The Half Queen was out of stock on October 13, 2026

Incomplete: annual consumables, energy use. This is not the full ownership cost.

Energy component: Unknown

Purchase + installation + years × (annual consumables + annual other) + watts/1000 × hours/day × 365 × years × $/kWh. Annualized allowances, not an exact replacement schedule. Excludes taxes, shipping, finance and resale unless entered.
Replacement parts & cost assumptions

No scheduled consumable is listed. That does not mean zero maintenance or repair costs.

  • The purchase price is the $719 sale price shown on October 13, 2026. At the $799 list price, the three-year estimate would be $80 higher.
  • Other annual costs are $0 because the product page says "No Subscription Fees" and says the Cube needs no app account.
  • Installation is $0 because the pad goes on the mattress and the control unit goes under or near the bed. Sleepme lists no paid installation or electrical work, and ground shipping is free to the 48 contiguous states.
  • Annual consumables are unknown, not $0. The product page has a Care & Maintenance heading with no text under it. It lists no prices or schedule for water, cleaning supplies or replacement parts.
  • Electricity isn't annualized because Sleepme doesn't state power draw or typical nightly run time on the product page.

Evidence & sources.

Do cooling mattress pads, sleep masks and sheets help you sleep? Our evidence review grades the research as Weak. That grade is about the claim, not about this product.

  • Manufacturer claimPrice, variants, temperature range, controls, clearance, trial, warranty length and subscription terms come from Sleepme's product page. Warranty exclusions and trial return steps come from its warranty terms page.12 This is Sleepme's own information, not independent performance or health-outcome testing.
  • Manufacturer claimThe product page's meta description gives a range of 60°F to 115°F, and the visible Cube copy says "as low as 60°F." The FAQ on the same page says the Cube lowers bed temperature by about 10°F from room air.1 The two statements agree only if the room is cool enough. The page doesn't explain the conditions behind the 60°F figure.
  • Manufacturer claimThe product page states no FDA status and no health outcomes. It lists the Cube as HSA/FSA eligible. It also says the pad's lack of electrical connections or wires means "zero EMFs in your bed for a cleaner sleep environment," with no citation.1 HSA/FSA eligibility is about how you can pay, not clinical evidence. FDA databases and published studies weren't checked for this review, and no independent evidence on the Cube was reviewed.
