The three side by side
Quest’s panel covers 85+ markers, and each retest costs $405 again at today’s price1. Function doesn’t state its renewal price5. SiPhox’s kit tests a much smaller panel, with 25 biomarkers on Longevity Essentials11. We found no outcome trials for any of the three120.
Prices are US list prices on each company’s official pages, before tax, checked on October 13, 2026. Every price and product figure is the company’s own. Where a cell says something isn’t stated, we didn’t find it on the pages checked.
| Question | Quest Elite Health Profile | Function Health Membership | SiPhox Health Membership |
|---|---|---|---|
| What you buy | One blood and urine draw at a Quest Patient Service Center. No membership, and nothing renews1 | A yearly membership with two draws: 100+ lab tests at an annual visit, then 60+ in a follow-up 3 to 6 months later46 | An at-home kit with one of four included panels: Longevity Essentials, Thyroid Focus, Hormone Focus or Heart & Metabolic. You can switch panels anytime9 |
| US price | $399 plus a $6 physician service fee, so $405 a test. No sale price shown1 | $365 for the first year, charged annually. It renews at the then-current price, which Function doesn’t state5 | $124 to start testing, plus shipping and handling, with no monthly fees. SiPhox doesn’t publish the shipping charge or say whether later kits cost the same1013 |
| How often you test | Once per purchase. Quest doesn’t suggest a retest schedule, and each retest costs $4051 | Twice a year, 3 to 6 months apart46 | Monthly, quarterly or every 6 months910 |
| Markers | 85+, including a CBC, metabolic and cholesterol panels, urinalysis, HbA1c, insulin, hs-CRP, ApoB, thyroid markers, ferritin, vitamin D, B12, folate and testosterone1 | 160+ lab tests a year across both visits46 | 25 biomarkers per test on Longevity Essentials, and SiPhox says upgrades reach up to 62. Counts for the other three panels aren’t stated911 |
| Extras | Height, weight, waist and blood pressure, a health risk survey and a Health Quotient Score from 1 to 100 are included. Home collection costs $79 extra where offered1 | Add-on tests and home or office draws cost extra, with no prices shown. Imaging isn’t included, but members can get an Annual MRI for $999468 | Swapping in Ultimate 360 costs $125 more, and the GLP Optimization Panel $75 more. On Longevity Essentials, CBC adds $45 and IGF-1 $70, or $100 for both911 |
| How the sample is taken | Blood and urine at one of 2,000+ Quest Patient Service Centers, or at home through Quest Mobile where offered. Fasting 8 to 12 hours is recommended13 | A blood draw (about 35 to 85 mL) at one of 2,000+ Quest locations, or at home or work in select areas. Fast for 8 hours467 | You take a small sample from your upper arm with the EasyDraw kit, in about 5 minutes with live support. SiPhox says it needs no vein draw or fingerprick, though its Longevity Essentials page also describes a fingerstick. Fasting 8 to 12 hours is strongly recommended91116 |
| Results | Typically 3 to 5 business days, including processing and clinical review1 | First results typically start arriving within 48 hours of testing. After an at-home draw, Function says results take around 2 weeks67 | 7 to 10 days, with same-day pickup of samples910 |
| Who reviews results | A provider licensed in your state reviews, approves and orders the test, and may contact you if a result needs attention. You can discuss results with an independent provider at no extra cost12 | Clinicians review every result and add a summary and action items, per Function46 | SiPhox calls itself a wellness-only service that isn’t meant to diagnose, prevent or treat disease. Its terms say it isn’t a health care provider and doesn’t offer lab review, outside a separate medication-management program101113 |
| Lab statements | Quest says it and certain affiliates are CLIA-certified labs. It doesn’t say whether the panel’s assays are FDA-cleared or lab-developed, and doesn’t mention CAP13 | Quest is named as the lab partner. CLIA or CAP accreditation isn’t stated. Function says it’s a technology company, not a lab or medical provider468 | Samples go to a CLIA-certified lab, with CLIA and CAP badges shown. SiPhox doesn’t name the lab915 |
| Who and where | Patients 18 to 100, US only. Collection isn’t available in Arizona, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, and Quest warns that other state rules can block a purchase12 | Adults 18+ who aren’t currently pregnant, in 48 states. It isn’t offered yet in Rhode Island, Hawai’i or Puerto Rico. In New York and New Jersey, its terms say the lab may bill some fees to you directly568 | Adults 18 and older. Not yet offered in Hawaii or New York1314 |
| Insurance and HSA/FSA | Quest doesn’t bill insurance. HSA/FSA accepted12 | Function doesn’t bill insurance. Listed as HSA/FSA eligible, subject to your plan46 | SiPhox doesn’t accept insurance. HSA/FSA eligible91718 |
| Canceling and refunds | Cancel before collection, within 60 days, for a refund minus a $20 fee per order. An unused purchase expires after 60 days and is refunded minus the same fee2 | A full refund only within 48 hours of first purchase and before any specimen is collected. Nonrefundable after that68 | No refund for a billing period once its kit ships, and kits can’t be returned. You can cancel before a kit ships, or move your next shipment date in your account121319 |
| Two draws in one year, known items only | $810 for two panels1 | $365 in the first year5 | $248 for two kits, if each costs $124, before shipping910 |
| Three years, known items only | $405 if you test once, or $1,215 for one test a year1 | $1,095 if renewal stays at $365 a year, which Function doesn’t promise. Extras aren’t included5 | $744 at one kit every 6 months, if every kit costs $124. Shipping, upgrades and add-ons aren’t included910 |
| Outcome evidence found | Quest cites no outcome study of this panel. A Cochrane review found general health checks had little or no effect on total mortality120 | No trial of the membership found | No trial of SiPhox’s panels found |
Which blood test should you get?
These are picks for different needs, not a ranking. The real choice is how you pay and how the blood is taken. You can go to a lab once, go twice a year, or test at home on a schedule.
- One broad panel, nothing to renew: Quest Elite Health Profile. $405 buys 85+ markers from one blood and urine visit, including ApoB, insulin and HbA1c, with results typically in 3 to 5 business days1. The catch: it’s one snapshot, and tracking changes means paying $405 again. Canceling before the draw costs $20, and collection isn’t available in Arizona, Hawaii or Puerto Rico12.
- Two draws a year with clinician review: Function Health. $365 covers an annual visit with 100+ lab tests and a 60+ test follow-up at Quest, and clinicians review every result46. The catch: it renews at a price Function doesn’t state, and refunds end 48 hours after purchase or at the first specimen58. Add-on tests, imaging and home draws cost extra. Function doesn’t publish prices for add-on tests or home draws468.
- Testing at home, as often as monthly: SiPhox Health. $124 to start buys a kit for an upper-arm sample at home, with results in 7 to 10 days910. You pick one of four panels and can switch anytime9. The catch: Longevity Essentials covers 25 biomarkers, and reaching 62 costs extra911. SiPhox won’t refund a billing period once the kit ships, and it doesn’t serve Hawaii or New York1214.
What a year, and three years, cost
Your first order costs $124 plus shipping at SiPhox, $365 at Function and $405 at Quest1510. Function’s price covers two draws, and the others cover one. The panels also differ in size. Quest lists 85+ markers, Function 100+ lab tests at the first visit and SiPhox’s Longevity Essentials 25 biomarkers1611.
For two draws in a year, Quest costs $810 and Function $36515. Two SiPhox kits come to $248 before shipping, if each costs $124, which SiPhox doesn’t confirm910. Testing monthly with SiPhox would come to $1,488 a year on the same assumption910.
Over three years, testing once a year with Quest comes to $1,2151. Function comes to $1,095 if it renews at $365 a year, which it doesn’t promise5. SiPhox comes to $744 at one kit every 6 months, before shipping, upgrades and add-ons910.
What the marketing doesn’t settle
Counts aren’t like for like. Quest counts markers, and SiPhox counts biomarkers per panel111. Function mostly counts lab tests, though one of its pages calls the annual panel 100+ biomarkers47. Quest’s package also includes a health risk survey and a Health Quotient Score from 1 to 1001. Neither is a lab test.
Lab statements are the companies’ own. Quest says it and certain affiliates are CLIA-certified labs, but it doesn’t say whether this panel’s assays are FDA-cleared or lab-developed13. Function’s pages don’t state CLIA or CAP accreditation45. SiPhox says a CLIA-certified lab runs its tests but doesn’t name the lab or the device in its kit91015. It says third parties run its mail-in tests in line with lab-developed test rules915.
Outcome evidence is thin for all three. A Cochrane review of randomized trials found general health checks in adults had little or no effect on total mortality (RR 1.00, 95% CI 0.97 to 1.03; 11 trials; high certainty)20. Those trials tested health checks in general, not these panels or at-home kits. Quest cites no outcome study of its panel1, and we found no trial of Function’s or SiPhox’s.
