Choose ifAnyone who wants Plunge's chiller and app at the lowest list price, with a 15 A circuit near a floor that can hold about 904 lb.You want one stainless tub for cold plunges and warm soaks, indoors or out, and you have a free 120 V, 20 A circuit and a way to move a freight delivery from the curb. You want cold plunges and warm soaks from one portable tub at $4,099, and you can give it a dedicated 15 A GFCI circuit.
Main trade-offThe tub is covered for only 90 days (the chiller gets 1 year), and Plunge doesn't publish enough to estimate running costs. You pay $16,500 without a published footprint, water volume, weight or running cost, and changing your mind costs a minimum 25% restocking fee plus shipping. The warranty lasts only one year, and the manual asks you to drain and refill the tub every 2 to 3 weeks.

Exact variantCold Only (no heater add-on)60-inch Standard, Black claddingHorizontal (2-Person), SKU POLAR623: inflatable lie-down tub with a 1 HP chiller that cools and heats
DimensionsTub 61 L × 32 W × 28 H in (outer). Plunge doesn't give inner dimensions. The standard chiller is 23 L × 14 W × 18 H in. Plunge also lists a Pro chiller at 28 L × 16 W × 17.5 H in. Leave 12 in of clearance behind the chiller, 12 in to the side and 6 in below. The Air is listed at 28 lb without water and 903.7 lb with water. The chiller's weight isn't published. It's sold as a 60-inch sit-in tub with full-body immersion up to the neck. The interior is contoured at a 20° slope. The product page names 54-inch Mini and 60-inch Standard sizes, but the online store lists only the 60 size. BlueCube doesn't state exterior or interior dimensions, water capacity, or empty and filled weight on the pages reviewed. The assembled tub measures 77.2 in long, 27.6 in wide and 24.4 in high. The manual and store description give the outer size as 6.4 × 2.3 × 2.1 ft. The store description puts the inside at 69 × 19.5 in, and the spec sheet at 69.3 × 19.7 in. The chiller is a separate box, 21.2 × 15.7 × 21.7 in. Empty, the tub weighs 15.5 lb and the chiller 88 lb. The spec card, spec sheet and manual list 128 gallons (485 L in the manual). The store description says 80 to 90 gallons instead. Sun Home doesn't explain the gap. The manual's fill line is 8 in below the top. Sun Home doesn't give a filled weight.
InstallationIt plugs into household power, but Plunge describes the requirement three ways. The product card lists 110 V/15 A. The electrical requirements call for a 120 V, 15 A dedicated circuit and mention a built-in 15 ft power cord. The FAQ says it uses a standard 110 V outlet and recommends a dedicated 15 A circuit with no other appliances on it. Setup, per the FAQ, means inflating the tub with the included pump, connecting two hoses, filling it with water and plugging in. Plunge gives the setup time as 15 or 20 minutes. In-home delivery doesn't include assembly, setup or connection to power or water. It's for indoor or outdoor residential use only.It needs a dedicated 120 V, 20 A outlet, and a GFCI cord is included. You can hardwire the tub instead. BlueCube rates it for indoor and outdoor use and says the chiller operates down to 20°F ambient. Delivery is free curbside freight in the continental US, not in-home placement. BlueCube doesn't state plumbing, drain, floor-load or clearance requirements on the pages reviewed. No plumbing is needed, Sun Home says. The tub inflates to 10 to 12 PSI with the included air pump, and the chiller connects with the included inlet and outlet hoses. The chiller plugs into a standard NEMA 5-15 outlet. That outlet must sit on a dedicated 15 A GFCI circuit. The manual says a licensed electrician should do all electrical work, and the wiring must follow local code. It also asks for a flat surface that can support 3,000 lb. Keep the chiller fan 3 ft from the tub and from walls. Keep the plunge at least 5 ft from other appliances. Leave 36 in clear in front of and behind the tub. Let the chiller stand upright and unplugged for 4 hours before first use. Sun Home rates the tub for indoor and outdoor use, but the chiller needs ambient air above 40°F to run.
MaterialsPlunge describes an inflatable warp-knit drop-stitch tub that's UV-resistant and insulated, with an insulated cover. The page's comparison cards contradict that. They list "fiberglass reinforced acrylic" for the Air and every other Plunge model. The tub is 14-gauge marine-grade 316-L stainless steel with a contoured sit-in interior. It sits in a marine-grade plywood cabinet coated in Line-X polyurea, which BlueCube says adds UV resistance and insulation. Black is the cladding priced here, and white, grey, beige and uncladded cost the same. BlueCube also offers any Sherwin-Williams custom color, but the online store doesn't list a price for it. BlueCube's performance page says its plumbing is Schedule 40 PVC. That's a brand-wide statement, not a C1 spec. An insulated spa cover with child locks is included.Sun Home describes a puncture-resistant inflatable tub with an insulated cover and lid. It doesn't name the tub's fabric or construction, or the cover's material. The box also includes an air pump, inlet and outlet hoses with gaskets, a metal inlet screen, a spare 20-micron paper filter, a filter wrench, a repair kit and a carrying case.
WarrantyThe tub is covered for 90 days and the chiller for 1 year, according to Plunge's warranty note. Elsewhere the page is less clear. The comparison card lists a "1 year warranty," and the FAQ mentions a "1-year limited warranty" without separating tub and chiller. Coverage starts at delivery. You activate it by downloading the app and connecting the unit to Wi-Fi. It stays active only while the unit remains connected to Wi-Fi and the app.Full coverage (parts and labor) runs 3 years for residential use or 1 year for commercial use. The stainless tub and frame are covered for 15 years. Exclusions and the claim process weren't reviewed.Sun Home gives the Cold Plunge a 1-year residential limited warranty against manufacturing defects. It starts at purchase or delivery, whichever is later, and covers the original buyer only. The warranty page and help-center FAQ cover labor and shipping for the first 90 days from delivery. After that, you pay both. The owner's manual reads differently: it says parts only, no labor, with freight at your cost. The manual also says commercial use voids the warranty, and it excludes freezing and improper water chemistry. Sun Home replaces defective parts at its discretion, and wear and tear and abuse aren't covered. The product page shows a "1+ Year Warranty" badge and a site-wide "Limited Lifetime Warranty" banner for most models. The warranty page lists one year for the Sun Home Cold Plunge and the Cold Plunge Pro and doesn't name the Horizontal separately. Extended warranties are sold separately, and the warranty page gives no price.
ReturnsThe FAQ says you can return the unit within 30 days for a full refund. A second FAQ answer calls it a hassle-free return policy but says some conditions may apply. It points to the full Return Policy, which wasn't checked for this review.Standard models have a 30-day money-back policy with a minimum 25% restocking fee. Under the refund policy, you must request a return within 30 days of receipt, and the unit must be unused and in its original packaging. Refunds are paid net of the 25% restocking fee and shipping expenses. Custom builds can't be returned. On a $16,500 tub, the fee alone is at least $4,125.You can return it within 30 days of delivery only if it's unused and still in its original, unopened packaging. Sun Home won't take back an uncrated, assembled or used cold plunge. The refund loses a 25% restocking fee plus shipping both ways, even on a free-shipping order. Returns need approval through Sun Home's returns portal first. Refunds are issued within 21 days of receiving the return, after inspection. Every cancellation costs 3% per product. You can cancel an in-stock order within 24 hours. After that, a 25% restocking fee applies, and you may also pay roundtrip shipping. On a $4,099 tub, the restocking fee alone is $1,024.75.
