The verdict

The C1 is a $16,500 stainless sit-in tub that both chills and heats, with a 41–104°F range. It suits you if you want one tub for cold plunges and warm soaks, indoors or out. The catch: BlueCube doesn't publish dimensions, water volume, weight or power draw, and a return costs at least 25% of the price plus shipping.

The trade-off

You pay $16,500 without a published footprint, water volume, weight or running cost, and changing your mind costs a minimum 25% restocking fee plus shipping.

About this price

List price. On Oct 13, 2026, BlueCube's online store priced the Black 60-inch tub at $16,500 with no markdown. The White, Grey, Beige and Uncladded 60-inch versions cost the same. The product page showed "From $16,500." A site banner offered a $1,000-off promo code on any tub. It's a checkout code, so it isn't deducted. The price is before tax and includes curbside freight delivery in the continental US.

A GOOD FIT FOR

You want one stainless tub for cold plunges and warm soaks, indoors or out, and you have a free 120 V, 20 A circuit and a way to move a freight delivery from the curb.

  • You want one tub for both cold plunges and warm soaks, and BlueCube gives it a 41–104°F range
  • An outdoor spot in a cool climate, since BlueCube says the chiller operates down to 20°F ambient
  • You care more about a stainless tub and 15 years of tub and frame coverage than about price

THINK TWICE IF

  • Anyone who wants water colder than 41°F
  • You need the footprint, water volume or filled weight before you order: none of them is published
  • You might change your mind, since a return costs at least 25% of the price plus shipping
  • A home without a free 120 V, 20 A circuit near the install spot
What still needs checking
  • Exterior and interior dimensions
  • Water capacity, and empty and filled weight
  • Power draw of the chiller, heater and pump
  • Heating rate and typical daily run time
  • Replacement filter price and change interval
  • What's in the included maintenance kit
  • Warranty exclusions and claim process
  • Build and delivery lead time
  • Whether you can order the 54-inch Mini named on the product page
  • Whether the tub or its equipment carries an electrical safety listing such as ETL, UL or CSA
  • Whether the app needs Wi-Fi or carries a fee
  • Whether the C1 gets the UV stage of the brand-wide "ozone + UV" sanitation on BlueCube's performance page (the C1's own listing names only ozone)
  • The price of a Sherwin-Williams custom color
  • Whether a custom color counts as a non-returnable custom build

DimensionsIt's sold as a 60-inch sit-in tub with full-body immersion up to the neck. The interior is contoured at a 20° slope. The product page names 54-inch Mini and 60-inch Standard sizes, but the online store lists only the 60 size. BlueCube doesn't state exterior or interior dimensions, water capacity, or empty and filled weight on the pages reviewed.
MaterialsThe tub is 14-gauge marine-grade 316-L stainless steel with a contoured sit-in interior. It sits in a marine-grade plywood cabinet coated in Line-X polyurea, which BlueCube says adds UV resistance and insulation. Black is the cladding priced here, and white, grey, beige and uncladded cost the same. BlueCube also offers any Sherwin-Williams custom color, but the online store doesn't list a price for it. BlueCube's performance page says its plumbing is Schedule 40 PVC. That's a brand-wide statement, not a C1 spec. An insulated spa cover with child locks is included.

It needs a dedicated 120 V, 20 A outlet, and a GFCI cord is included. You can hardwire the tub instead. BlueCube rates it for indoor and outdoor use and says the chiller operates down to 20°F ambient. Delivery is free curbside freight in the continental US, not in-home placement. BlueCube doesn't state plumbing, drain, floor-load or clearance requirements on the pages reviewed.

Full coverage (parts and labor) runs 3 years for residential use or 1 year for commercial use. The stainless tub and frame are covered for 15 years. Exclusions and the claim process weren't reviewed.

ReturnsStandard models have a 30-day money-back policy with a minimum 25% restocking fee

Standard models have a 30-day money-back policy with a minimum 25% restocking fee. Under the refund policy, you must request a return within 30 days of receipt, and the unit must be unused and in its original packaging. Refunds are paid net of the 25% restocking fee and shipping expenses. Custom builds can't be returned. On a $16,500 tub, the fee alone is at least $4,125.

More about this assessment

The C1 is BlueCube's handbuilt sit-in tub of 14-gauge 316-L stainless steel. BlueCube says its 13,600 BTU chiller and heater give it a 41–104°F range. It's $16,500 in any 60-inch cladding, with free curbside freight delivery in the continental US. You'll need a dedicated 120 V, 20 A outlet, and running costs are unknown because power draw and filter prices aren't published. Coverage is 3 years residential (parts and labor) and 15 years on the tub and frame. The catch: dimensions, water capacity and weight aren't published, and a return carries a minimum 25% restocking fee.

Strengths on paper

  • 14-gauge 316-L stainless steel tub with a 15-year tub and frame warranty

  • Rated for indoor and outdoor use
  • An insulated, child-lockable cover and a maintenance kit are included
  • Plugs into a dedicated 120 V, 20 A outlet with the included GFCI cord, or can be hardwired

Limitations

  • No published dimensions, water capacity, weight, power draw or heating rate
  • Returns cost a restocking fee of at least 25%, plus shipping
  • Custom builds can't be returned
  • Curbside freight delivery, not in-home placement
  • The lowest temperature BlueCube gives is 41°F
  • The cooling rate of about 5°F per hour is BlueCube's figure for the C-line, not a C1-specific or independent measurement

3-year known subtotal

$16,500.00

Incomplete: installation, annual consumables, other annual costs, energy use. This is not the full ownership cost.

Energy component: Unknown

Purchase + installation + years × (annual consumables + annual other) + watts/1000 × hours/day × 365 × years × $/kWh. Annualized allowances, not an exact replacement schedule. Excludes taxes, shipping, finance and resale unless entered.
Replacement parts & cost assumptions

Recorded recurring parts and refills:

  • 20-micron filters and water-care supplies: cost not recorded. A maintenance kit comes with the tub. The pages reviewed don't say what's in it, what a replacement filter costs or how often to change one.
  • Purchase is the $16,500 list price for the 60-inch Black variant on Oct 13, 2026. All five 60-inch claddings cost the same. The $1,000-off banner code isn't deducted.
  • Installation is unknown. The tub needs a dedicated 120 V, 20 A outlet or hardwiring, and no cost is given for adding a circuit. Delivery is free curbside freight in the continental US. Getting the tub from the curb to its spot isn't priced.
  • Annual consumables are unknown. A maintenance kit is included, but no price or change interval was found for filters or water-care refills, so nothing is annualized.
  • Electricity isn't estimated. BlueCube gives the chiller's 13,600 BTU rating and the 20 A outlet requirement. It gives no wattage, kWh or typical run time for the chiller, heater or pump.
  • BlueCube lists the app but doesn't state a fee or say it's free, so other annual costs are left unknown rather than set to zero.

Evidence & sources.

Do cold plunges work? Our evidence review grades the research as Mixed. That grade is about the claim, not about this product.

  • Manufacturer claimThe price, materials, chiller rating, temperature range, circulation, sanitation, electrical needs, inclusions, warranty and return terms all come from BlueCube. The sources are its product page, store listing, refund policy, and comparison and performance pages.15 None of it is independent testing of cooling speed, temperature holding, water quality or durability.
  • Manufacturer claimBlueCube's comparison page sets the C1's $16,500 price against Plunge, Renu Therapy and Morozko Forge. It says the C-line chiller pulls about 5°F an hour.4 BlueCube wrote the comparison, so it isn't an independent test. Its table uses one BlueCube column, not C1-specific figures.
  • Manufacturer claimBlueCube's product page, store description, FAQ, refund policy, and performance and comparison pages cite no electrical safety listing (such as ETL or UL), independent testing or regulatory clearance.16 A chilled tub is consumer equipment, not a regulated medical device. A listing missing from these pages doesn't prove none exists. The C1 owner's manual PDF, certifier databases and studies of cold-water immersion weren't reviewed.
