Main trade-offAt $12,490 plus shipping, you get no published capacity, filled weight or power draw, and only a 14-day return window. The chiller gets 1 year of coverage while the rest gets 5. Returns cost 5% plus shipping, and the manual puts cooling at 1.5 to 3°F per hour.
Key specifications
  • Lowest stated temperature: 32°F (0°C). Morozko says the controller holds it even when the room is above 110°F, and that the Forge makes ice. New units ship set to 35°F
  • Chiller: Hand-built copper refrigeration system that cycles on and off to hold the set temperature. Horsepower, BTU rating and cooling rate not published
  • Electrical: 110 V cord with an inline GFCI. Morozko says it operates on a 110 V, 15 A circuit in the US. Wattage not published
  • Tub size: 60-inch or 66-inch tub. Outer size 79 or 85 in long, 28-3/4 in wide, 26-3/8 in tall
  • Capacity and weight: Water capacity and empty or filled weight not stated. Packed weight 223 lb, or 268 lb on a pallet
  • Water care: Microfiltration plus ozone, with no chlorine. The filter model and change interval for the Forge aren't published. Inlet strainer needs regular cleaning
  • Controls: Digital temperature controller. Filtration timer runs 12 AM to 2 AM Arizona time by default. Morozko's manual page says units after February 2025 add a Meross Wi-Fi controller
  • Cold-weather protection: A warming circuit protects the filter, pump and piping down to -10°F for up to 12 hours with the filter pump on
  • Noise: 57 dB at 6 ft for Morozko ice baths built after 2024, per Morozko. Its sound report measured an M72 Ice Bath, not the Forge
  • Delivery: Built to order in Phoenix. Morozko's product page says about 5 weeks, and its shipping page says 4 weeks for standard orders. Curbside delivery costs $990. White Glove delivery with setup costs $1,500 or $3,000, depending on region
  • Temperature range: 37°F to 104°F from the integrated chiller and heater
  • Chiller and heater: 0.5 HP chiller and 1 kW heater. The user manual gives cooling at 1.5–3°F per hour and heating at 4–6°F per hour
  • Water capacity: 95 gallons at normal fill, 134 gallons maximum
  • Weight: 365 lb dry, about 1,155 lb filled
  • Electrical: 120 V, with a dedicated 15 A circuit recommended
  • Power draw: Peak draw is 518 W (6.1 A) cooling and 1,013 W (8.6 A) heating. The user manual gives a typical 350–500 W at 3–5 A while the chiller runs
  • Average power: 130 W over 24 hours holding 40°F, and 260 W holding 100°F. Renu doesn't give the test conditions
  • Sanitation: Ozone generator plus two-stage filtration. The user manual places a quick-swap primary filter in the tank, and a larger XL secondary filter sits in a housing reached through a vent panel
  • Controls and noise: App control through ControlMySpa, with a supplied gateway that plugs into your router by Ethernet. Touchscreen and programmable lighting. Renu gives 58 dB at about 3 ft from the large grill
Exact variant60-inch tub, white or charcoal, with the standard spa lidMeterous Black finish, California Redwood deck, included basic tub lid (SKU AS-CS30-BK-RD)
DimensionsMorozko sells 60-inch and 66-inch tubs. It lists the Forge at 79 or 85 inches long, and it says the Forge fits through most standard doorways. Morozko doesn't say which length goes with which tub. It also doesn't give the inside dimensions, water capacity or empty and filled weight. Packed for shipping, it measures 88 x 34 x 30 inches. The body measures 70 L × 33 W × 35 H in. It's 33 in wide at the base and top and about 35.5 in at the widest point of the contoured sides. The tub interior is 40 L × 25 W × 31 D in. The tub weighs 365 lb dry and about 1,155 lb filled with 95 gallons. The user manual gives about 1,165 lb filled. The cut sheet asks for 15 in of clearance at the small vent and 27 in at the large vent. It also asks for 1 to 2 in on the long side for the cord.
InstallationThe Forge needs no plumbing or drain line. Fill it with a hose to about 6 inches from the top, plug it in and set the temperature, then bleed air from the filter and check for leaks. The cord is a three-prong 110 V plug with an inline GFCI, and Morozko says the bath runs on a 110 V, 15 A circuit in the US without saying whether it must be dedicated. Morozko covers outdoor use down to -10°F if the filter pump runs continuously. Set it on a surface that tolerates splashing, because the warranty excludes damage to floors and surrounding surfaces. Keep it level when moving it, since tilting the unit can drain oil from the compressor.Renu recommends a dedicated 120 V, 15 A circuit that isn't shared with other devices. The unit has a GFCI plug, and the product page lists a 12 ft cord while the cut sheet shows both a 12 ft GFCI cord and a 9 ft standard cord. No plumbing is needed. Fill the tub with a hose to 6 to 8 in below the top and set it on a level surface in a water-resistant area. Renu gives no floor-load rating, and the filled tub weighs about 1,155 lb. Delivery is free curbside within the contiguous US, you move the tub off the pallet yourself, and it ships in 3 to 5 weeks.
MaterialsMorozko lists a stainless steel tub and describes a polyurea Line-X coating suitable for outdoor installation. The Forge comes in white or charcoal. The standard lid is a lightweight, vinyl-clad spa lid in light gray for indoor or outdoor use. Cooling comes from a hand-built copper refrigeration system. Morozko says each Forge is hand-built to order in Phoenix, Arizona.Renu doesn't state the shell material, though its warranty page groups the Cold Stoic 3.0 with its plastic tubs. The perimeter has 4 in of insulation. The version priced here has a California Redwood breath deck, and Pacific Cedar and four composite decks are options. Renu also lists a basic tub lid and a matching step stool, and says the tub is handcrafted in Southern California.
WarrantyThree years for parts and labor against manufacturing defects, per Morozko's product page. The warranty is non-transferable and can't be moved to a new location without Morozko's permission. If you add salt, Morozko warranties only pure Epsom salt and Morozko Minerals, and says not to use chloride salts, Dead Sea salt or muriatic acid. Morozko's 72-hour on-site service guarantee covers its PRO, Arktika, Tall Barrel, XL and Mineral Bath lines, not the Forge. Morozko's ice bath machine page says 2 to 3 years, so confirm three years in writing before you buy. Morozko doesn't split the term between the tub and the refrigeration system, and it isn't responsible for damage to surrounding floors or structures.Covered components get a 5-year limited warranty from delivery, except the water chiller at 1 year. The user manual says shipment instead. You can add 4 more chiller years if you buy the extension within 364 days of shipment, and Renu doesn't give its price. Coverage is for the original purchaser's non-commercial home use in the contiguous US. Water leaks, poor water chemistry, neglected filter care, freezing, power outages, low water flow and misuse are excluded. You do most repairs yourself, Renu covers parts, and you pay shipping and removal. Renu pays an approved provider's labor at up to $50 per hour, for a maximum of 2 hours.
Returns14 days from delivery, for a refund of the purchase price less initial shipping. You repackage the unit and load it onto Morozko's truck, and Morozko pays return shipping. Orders paid by invoice and custom orders carry a 25% restocking fee, and only standard models bought at regular retail price through the web store are exempt. Morozko's manual page says 30 days instead, which conflicts with the product page and policy page. You can return a new cold plunge from a domestic order for any reason within 45 days of delivery. It has to arrive back in good condition, and you pay a 5% restocking fee and shipping costs. Refunds process 3 to 10 business days after receipt. Canceling before shipment costs 5%, and shipped orders can't be canceled. Refurbished, international and bulk (3 or more units) sales are final.
Unresolved questions
  • Water capacity, and empty and filled weight
  • Inside dimensions of the tub
  • Chiller horsepower, power draw, amperage under load and typical daily run time
  • How long the Forge takes to reach 32°F from a fresh fill
  • Whether the 110 V, 15 A circuit must be dedicated
  • Which filter cartridge the Forge uses, how often to change it, and its price
  • How often to change the water
  • Ozone output. Morozko's technology page gives 100 mg/L for most units and 200 mg/hr for the PRO and XL, so the two can't be compared
  • Whether the Forge carries an electrical safety listing such as ETL, UL or CSA
  • Whether the 25% restocking fee applies to this sale-priced Forge, and whether choosing a color or size counts as a custom order
  • Whether the Wi-Fi controller and app are free
  • Shell material (the warranty page groups the tub with Renu's plastic tubs but names no material)
  • Whether the unit carries an electrical safety listing such as ETL, UL or CSA
  • Price of the extended chiller warranty
  • Price of a replacement primary filter
  • How often the XL filter actually needs replacing rather than cleaning
  • Ambient temperature, cover use and test method behind the 130 W and 260 W average power figures
  • Whether the primary filter is reusable (product page) or replaced every 2 to 4 weeks (user manual)
  • Cord length (12 ft GFCI or 9 ft standard)
  • Filled weight (1,155 lb on the page, about 1,165 lb in the manual)
  • Whether the warranty covers the water filter or its housing O-ring, which the manual excludes
  • Whether the warranty covers natural-wood Redwood and Cedar decks, since Renu takes no responsibility for the wood
  • An indoor or outdoor rating. Renu doesn't give one. The product page says the tub withstands harsh weather, and the warranty page mentions weathering of the wood decks on outdoor units
  • Whether the app carries any fee
  • Whether the manual's start date (shipment) or the warranty page's start date (delivery) applies
