Main trade-offAt $12,490 plus shipping, you get no published capacity, filled weight or power draw, and only a 14-day return window. The chiller is covered for only a year, and power costs are unknown because Nordic Wave publishes no power draw.
Key specifications
  • Lowest stated temperature: 32°F (0°C). Morozko says the controller holds it even when the room is above 110°F, and that the Forge makes ice. New units ship set to 35°F
  • Chiller: Hand-built copper refrigeration system that cycles on and off to hold the set temperature. Horsepower, BTU rating and cooling rate not published
  • Electrical: 110 V cord with an inline GFCI. Morozko says it operates on a 110 V, 15 A circuit in the US. Wattage not published
  • Tub size: 60-inch or 66-inch tub. Outer size 79 or 85 in long, 28-3/4 in wide, 26-3/8 in tall
  • Capacity and weight: Water capacity and empty or filled weight not stated. Packed weight 223 lb, or 268 lb on a pallet
  • Water care: Microfiltration plus ozone, with no chlorine. The filter model and change interval for the Forge aren't published. Inlet strainer needs regular cleaning
  • Controls: Digital temperature controller. Filtration timer runs 12 AM to 2 AM Arizona time by default. Morozko's manual page says units after February 2025 add a Meross Wi-Fi controller
  • Cold-weather protection: A warming circuit protects the filter, pump and piping down to -10°F for up to 12 hours with the filter pump on
  • Noise: 57 dB at 6 ft for Morozko ice baths built after 2024, per Morozko. Its sound report measured an M72 Ice Bath, not the Forge
  • Delivery: Built to order in Phoenix. Morozko's product page says about 5 weeks, and its shipping page says 4 weeks for standard orders. Curbside delivery costs $990. White Glove delivery with setup costs $1,500 or $3,000, depending on region
  • Temperature range: 35–104°F with the included heater. Hot mode is switched on in the Nordic Flow app
  • Chiller: Gen 2 Pro, rated 0.8 HP, with an auto-priming pump. The 1.0 HP Elite is suggested for warm climates. No cooling rate is published

  • Size and capacity: 36 W × 30 D × 44 H in outside and about 95 gallons. 60 lb without water and about 904 lb with water
  • Water care: Multi-stage filtration with UV on the product page, and ozone in the store description. 50-micron filters, changed monthly
  • Outdoor use: Rated down to 14°F ambient. Drain it at 14°F or below

DimensionsMorozko sells 60-inch and 66-inch tubs. It lists the Forge at 79 or 85 inches long, and it says the Forge fits through most standard doorways. Morozko doesn't say which length goes with which tub. It also doesn't give the inside dimensions, water capacity or empty and filled weight. Packed for shipping, it measures 88 x 34 x 30 inches.Outside, it measures 36 W × 30 D × 44 H in. Inside, the spec table gives 32 W × 26 D × 39 H in, but the product page FAQ says 37 in for the height. The floor is 24 × 19 in, and it holds about 95 gallons. The spec table gives 60 lb without water and about 904 lb with water. Nordic Wave says it fits users up to 6 ft 4 in.
InstallationThe Forge needs no plumbing or drain line. Fill it with a hose to about 6 inches from the top, plug it in and set the temperature, then bleed air from the filter and check for leaks. The cord is a three-prong 110 V plug with an inline GFCI, and Morozko says the bath runs on a 110 V, 15 A circuit in the US without saying whether it must be dedicated. Morozko covers outdoor use down to -10°F if the filter pump runs continuously. Set it on a surface that tolerates splashing, because the warranty excludes damage to floors and surrounding surfaces. Keep it level when moving it, since tilting the unit can drain oil from the compressor.Nordic Wave says the chiller runs from a standard 120 V household outlet with no electrical upgrades, and it gives no amperage, wattage or GFCI requirement. The page calls setup plug-and-play with an auto-priming pump and puts it at 15 minutes. You drain the tub through a garden hose on the bottom valve. It's rated for indoor and outdoor use down to 14°F ambient, and at 14°F or below Nordic Wave says to drain it and store it somewhere temperature-controlled. Shipping to the continental US is free by FedEx Freight, and the product page says it ships in 5 to 7 days (Oct 20). White Glove delivery is an optional upgrade at checkout with no listed price.
MaterialsMorozko lists a stainless steel tub and describes a polyurea Line-X coating suitable for outdoor installation. The Forge comes in white or charcoal. The standard lid is a lightweight, vinyl-clad spa lid in light gray for indoor or outdoor use. Cooling comes from a hand-built copper refrigeration system. Morozko says each Forge is hand-built to order in Phoenix, Arizona.Nordic Wave doesn't name the shell material. The walls have 2 in of foam insulation, with an anti-sweat design meant to stop condensation. The floor slopes to a dedicated drain valve. It comes with all-weather steps, a Stay-Cold lid and a 2-month supply of filters. The chiller has a clear filter housing, so you can see the filter.
WarrantyThree years for parts and labor against manufacturing defects, per Morozko's product page. The warranty is non-transferable and can't be moved to a new location without Morozko's permission. If you add salt, Morozko warranties only pure Epsom salt and Morozko Minerals, and says not to use chloride salts, Dead Sea salt or muriatic acid. Morozko's 72-hour on-site service guarantee covers its PRO, Arktika, Tall Barrel, XL and Mineral Bath lines, not the Forge. Morozko's ice bath machine page says 2 to 3 years, so confirm three years in writing before you buy. Morozko doesn't split the term between the tub and the refrigeration system, and it isn't responsible for damage to surrounding floors or structures. The tub is covered for 5 years from purchase and the chiller for 1 year from delivery, against defects in materials and workmanship, for the original home buyer only. The warranty page covers the Viking Cold Plunge System and doesn't name the Premier separately. You must buy filters from Nordic Wave, and it must be installed and running within 30 days of delivery. Skipped filter changes, freezing, voltage swings and misuse void it. A chiller repair or replacement costs you a flat $250 for shipping and packaging both ways, and a Nordic Wave approved technician must do the repair.
Returns14 days from delivery, for a refund of the purchase price less initial shipping. You repackage the unit and load it onto Morozko's truck, and Morozko pays return shipping. Orders paid by invoice and custom orders carry a 25% restocking fee, and only standard models bought at regular retail price through the web store are exempt. Morozko's manual page says 30 days instead, which conflicts with the product page and policy page. You have 15 days from delivery to request a return, and only new units qualify. Every approved return is charged a flat 20% restocking fee on what you paid, even if the box was never opened. At the $5,990 sale price, that's $1,198. A defective or damaged unit carries no restocking fee if you report it within 48 hours of delivery.
Unresolved questions
  • Water capacity, and empty and filled weight
  • Inside dimensions of the tub
  • Chiller horsepower, power draw, amperage under load and typical daily run time
  • How long the Forge takes to reach 32°F from a fresh fill
  • Whether the 110 V, 15 A circuit must be dedicated
  • Which filter cartridge the Forge uses, how often to change it, and its price
  • How often to change the water
  • Ozone output. Morozko's technology page gives 100 mg/L for most units and 200 mg/hr for the PRO and XL, so the two can't be compared
  • Whether the Forge carries an electrical safety listing such as ETL, UL or CSA
  • Whether the 25% restocking fee applies to this sale-priced Forge, and whether choosing a color or size counts as a custom order
  • Whether the Wi-Fi controller and app are free
  • Power draw, amperage, and whether a GFCI or dedicated circuit is recommended
  • Cooling and heating rates
  • What the optional guided-routine subscription costs after the 60-day membership
  • Shell material
  • The price of White Glove delivery
  • Whether the $5,990 sale price applies at checkout, since Nordic Wave's online store still shows $6,990, and when the sale ends
  • Whether the tub or chiller carries an ETL, UL or CSA safety listing
  • Whether the interior height is 39 in or 37 in
  • Whether the 60 lb empty weight includes the chiller
  • Whether filters need changing once or twice a month, since the product and filter pages differ
  • Whether ozone is part of the water care, since the product page lists UV and the store description lists ozone
