Choose ifOne sleeper who wants active cooling and heating on their half of a King bed, without an app, Wi-Fi or membership.Couples who like the bed at different temperatures, want to keep their Queen mattress and will keep paying for Autopilot.
Main trade-offCooling depends on room temperature, the standard warranty is only 1 year, and the product page doesn't publish power, noise or maintenance details.Membership fees add at least $199 a year to the $2,899 price, and the 5-year warranty needs a $299-plus plan kept active.
Key specifications
  • Temperature range: 60°F to 115°F, per the page's meta description. The visible copy says "as low as 60°F," and the FAQ says the Cube lowers bed temperature by about 10°F from room air. The visible page text gives no separate heating maximum.
  • Zones and sizes: One Sleeper (one temperature-controlled zone) comes in Half Queen, Half King and Half Cal King. A Two Sleepers option (two zones) is also listed, but its sizes and prices weren't shown. Sleepme says you can add a second single-zone system later for dual-zone control.
  • Controls: Buttons on the unit or the included remote (batteries included). No Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or app account
  • Under-bed clearance: Sleepme says the Cube fits under bed frames with 8 in or more of clearance
  • Subscription: None. The product page says "No Subscription Fees"
  • Power draw, water capacity, noise: Not stated by the manufacturer on the product page
  • Temperature range: 55°F to 110°F, set separately for each side of the bed
  • Cover: 1 in thick, 60 x 80 in for the Queen, with 18 biometric sensors (Pod 5 had two)
  • Hub power: Input 120/240 V AC and output 550 W, 12 V DC, as listed. Eight Sleep doesn't state average power draw
  • Hub size: 16.54 x 7.87 x 6.50 in (L x H x W), 15.2 lb
  • Autopilot membership: Required. Standard: $17/mo or $199/yr, with a 2-year warranty. Enhanced: $25/mo or $299/yr, with a 5-year warranty. Elite: $33/mo or $399/yr, with a 5-year warranty, plus Health Check and cardiovascular and respiratory monitoring
  • Tracking and alarm: Every Autopilot plan lists sleep and health tracking, plus a vibration and thermal alarm. The launch release names heart rate, HRV and breathing rate. The Autopilot page names sleep stages

DimensionsSleepme says the Cube fits any mattress and fits under bed frames with 8 in or more of clearance. It doesn't state pad or control-unit dimensions or weights on the product page. The page's "Specs" tab and "See Size Chart" link were empty.Cover: Queen 60 in W x 80 in L, 1 in thick. Hub: 16.54 in L x 7.87 in H x 6.50 in W, 15.2 lb.
InstallationThe pad goes on top of your existing mattress, and Sleepme says any mattress works. It calls the Cube "plug-and-play" and lists "Easy Installation." The control unit fits under bed frames with 8 in or more of clearance. Sleepme says the Chilipad works with adjustable and split-adjustable beds. It recommends two single-zone systems for a split-adjustable bed and suggests putting the control units at the foot of the bed. You don't need Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or an app account. Sleepme doesn't state electrical requirements on the product page. The Cover fits over your existing mattress like a fitted sheet. The Hub slides under the bed or sits on or near the nightstand. It takes 120/240 V AC input, and the product page doesn't mention a dedicated circuit. You set temperatures, sync fitness apps and see health insights in the app. Eight Sleep says the Hub is small enough to fit under most bed frames. It's 7.87 in tall, so it needs at least that much space to go under a bed. Eight Sleep doesn't say whether it needs extra clearance for airflow.
MaterialsThe Cool Mesh Pad is water-based, and Sleepme says it has no electrical connections or wires. The page describes the Cube as a dual-sided topper ("Cool or Comfy"). It lists "Machine-Washable & Dryable" among the system's features but doesn't say which parts that covers. Sleepme doesn't state the fabric composition or the control unit's materials on the product page. The Cover's top fabric is 100% polyester. The side fabric is 46% polyester, 44% rayon and 10% spandex. The inner fabric is 96% nylon and 4% spandex. Eight Sleep doesn't state what the Hub is made of.
WarrantyThe Cube has a 1-year limited warranty, with an option to extend coverage. Sleepme's warranty terms give 1 year on the Cube control unit and 1 year on sleep pads. Exclusions include cleaning or maintaining the control unit, or washing the pad, in a way that doesn't follow Sleepme's instructions. They also include improper voltage or power supply, use outside the intended uses, and commercial use such as hotels or hospitals. Neither the product page nor the warranty page states the length or price of the extension (the Protection Plan). The standard limited warranty covers manufacturing defects under normal in-home, non-commercial use for 2 years. That's the term listed for the Autopilot Standard plan. With an active Autopilot Enhanced or Elite membership, it's a 5-year limited warranty instead. Coverage starts on the delivery date. Both terms require an active Eight Sleep membership throughout the coverage period. They apply only to Pods bought directly from eightsleep.com, not from resellers, marketplaces or secondhand sales. The warranty excludes embedded software, normal wear and tear, cosmetic damage, accidents and misuse, and service by anyone Eight Sleep hasn't authorized.
ReturnsThere's a 30-night sleep trial with free returns. Sleepme's warranty terms say the trial runs 30 days from delivery, and you must request a return within that period. Sleepme must then receive the product within 30 days of the request. Returns within the first 30 days aren't charged shipping and handling, but expedited shipping fees aren't refunded. If you buy from an authorized dealer, the dealer's return policy applies. Sleep-system purchases made November 4 through December 25 get an extended trial through January 25 of the following year. The pages checked don't state refund timing, minimum nights or packaging requirements. There's a 30-night trial, which Eight Sleep calls risk-free, with free shipping and free returns. To return a Pod, contact Eight Sleep support within 30 calendar days of the delivery date. Eight Sleep sends return shipping instructions and a prepaid return label. It says refunds are typically processed within 5 to 10 business days. You can return Pod 6 components individually within the 30-day window. Delivery to a freight forwarder, or rerouting to an unsupported country, voids return eligibility. The policy says each component must meet return requirements but doesn't define them. Eight Sleep doesn't say whether Autopilot fees are refunded.

  • The cost of any maintenance supplies
  • Pad and control-unit dimensions and weights

  • Protection Plan (extended warranty) length, price and terms
  • Refund timing, minimum nights and packaging requirements for trial returns
