Choose ifCouples who like the bed at different temperatures, want to keep their Queen mattress and will keep paying for Autopilot. You want water cooling or heating on both sides of a King for about the price of one side of Chilipad 2.0.
Main trade-offMembership fees add at least $199 a year to the $2,899 price, and the 5-year warranty needs a $299-plus plan kept active. You give up the 2.0's two-year warranty, bedside remote and quieter Dock, and each Dock needs $88 of cleaner a year.

Exact variantPod 6 Standard (two-zone Cover and Hub), Queen 60 x 80 in, no Base, Blanket or Pillow Cover. Autopilot membership billed separatelyChilipad 1.0 (the renamed Dock Pro), Two Sleepers, King: two temperature-controlled zones
DimensionsCover: Queen 60 in W x 80 in L, 1 in thick. Hub: 16.54 in L x 7.87 in H x 6.50 in W, 15.2 lb.Not stated by the manufacturer. Neither the product page nor the Dock Pro manual gives dimensions or weights for the Dock or the topper. The manual asks for 6 inches of clearance around the Dock's front grille and back vent. Sleepme also asks for at least 2 inches between the mattress and the headboard or footboard, so the connector fits.
InstallationThe Cover fits over your existing mattress like a fitted sheet. The Hub slides under the bed or sits on or near the nightstand. It takes 120/240 V AC input, and the product page doesn't mention a dedicated circuit. You set temperatures, sync fitness apps and see health insights in the app. Eight Sleep says the Hub is small enough to fit under most bed frames. It's 7.87 in tall, so it needs at least that much space to go under a bed. Eight Sleep doesn't say whether it needs extra clearance for airflow. You set it up yourself. Depending on the pad, the topper goes on like a fitted sheet or slides on from the side. Plug in the Dock, attach the hose and fill the reservoir with distilled water until the water droplet icon disappears. The manual says that takes about three refills, and Sleepme says frequent top-ups are normal for the first few weeks. The Dock can sit at the head or foot of the bed or on a nightstand, and Sleepme recommends a surge protector. On a split adjustable bed, Sleepme says you need two one-person systems to cover the whole mattress. Put the connector at the foot.
MaterialsThe Cover's top fabric is 100% polyester. The side fabric is 46% polyester, 44% rayon and 10% spandex. The inner fabric is 96% nylon and 4% spandex. Eight Sleep doesn't state what the Hub is made of.The kit is the "Legacy 1.0 Dock & 1.0 Chilipad Pro Cover." Sleepme calls the 1.0 topper a functional one focused on temperature control, while 2.0 gets a performance-grade cover. It doesn't give the topper's fabric or the Dock's materials. The manual says to drain the pad, machine wash it cold on a gentle cycle and tumble dry on medium.
WarrantyThe standard limited warranty covers manufacturing defects under normal in-home, non-commercial use for 2 years. That's the term listed for the Autopilot Standard plan. With an active Autopilot Enhanced or Elite membership, it's a 5-year limited warranty instead. Coverage starts on the delivery date. Both terms require an active Eight Sleep membership throughout the coverage period. They apply only to Pods bought directly from eightsleep.com, not from resellers, marketplaces or secondhand sales. The warranty excludes embedded software, normal wear and tear, cosmetic damage, accidents and misuse, and service by anyone Eight Sleep hasn't authorized.One-year limited warranty, per the product page. Sleepme's warranty terms give Dock Pro control units and Pro mattress toppers one year each. They cover defects in materials and workmanship, and Sleepme repairs or replaces at its discretion. Exclusions include cosmetic damage, accidents, misuse, improper storage, commercial use and normal wear on the pad. The manual says skipping its maintenance steps voids the warranty. Sleepme may charge shipping or handling fees on a claim, though not if you send the item back within the first 30 days. Sleepme sells a Protection Plan, but the warranty page gives no price or length.
ReturnsThere's a 30-night trial, which Eight Sleep calls risk-free, with free shipping and free returns. To return a Pod, contact Eight Sleep support within 30 calendar days of the delivery date. Eight Sleep sends return shipping instructions and a prepaid return label. It says refunds are typically processed within 5 to 10 business days. You can return Pod 6 components individually within the 30-day window. Delivery to a freight forwarder, or rerouting to an unsupported country, voids return eligibility. The policy says each component must meet return requirements but doesn't define them. Eight Sleep doesn't say whether Autopilot fees are refunded. There's a 30-night sleep trial with free returns in the contiguous US. You start a return at Sleepme's Returns Center, and refunds are processed within 30 days of Sleepme receiving the product. Outside the contiguous US you pay return shipping, and expedited shipping fees aren't refunded. Sleepme can refuse a return or deduct from the refund if parts are missing or the system is used or damaged beyond what's reasonable. Final Sale items can't be returned, but the 1.0 listing carried no Final Sale label. Purchases made November 4 to December 25 get a trial through January 25 of the following year. The trial covers purchases from Sleepme's own sites and its official Amazon, eBay and Walmart pages. If you buy from another retailer, Sleepme can't process the return.
