The verdict

Equinox 2-Person is an indoor full-spectrum infrared cabin for two, on sale for $6,099. It suits you if you can add a dedicated 120 V, 20 A GFCI circuit. The catch is the fine print: warranty labor and shipping end after 90 days, and an opened cabin can't be returned.

The trade-off

No electrical safety listing is named, labor and shipping are covered for just 90 days, and returns exclude opened cabins and cost 25% plus freight both ways.

About this price

Sale price shown on Sun Home's product page on Oct 13, 2026. The regular price was $6,799, and the page advertised "$700 Instant Savings". It showed the cabin in stock, with an Add to Cart button and free US shipping. The price is before tax. Affirm financing and HSA/FSA payment are ways to pay, not discounts, so nothing is deducted for them.

A GOOD FIT FOR

Two people who want full-spectrum heaters at a listed price and can supply a dedicated 120 V, 20 A GFCI circuit, plus about 51 × 46 in of indoor floor space with side, back and overhead clearance.

  • Two people with a dedicated 120 V, 20 A GFCI circuit (or plans for one) and indoor room for a 50.9 × 45.9 in cabin, plus at least 4 in at the sides and back and 12 in overhead
  • You want full-spectrum heaters on a 120 V circuit and a price you can add to cart, not a quote request

THINK TWICE IF

  • A home that can't add a dedicated 20 A GFCI circuit, or where you'd need an extension cord to reach an outlet
  • A spot within five feet of a shower, tub or other source of water that produces liquid or vapor (Sun Home says that voids the warranty)
  • A room with less than about 90 in of ceiling height, since the 77.7 in cabin needs 12 in overhead
  • Anyone who might need to return it after opening, since only unopened cabins are returnable and returns cost 25% plus shipping both ways
What still needs checking
  • The wattage of each far-infrared wall heater
  • Average power use during a session
  • Whether any electrical safety listing (such as ETL or UL) covers this model
  • How Sun Home measured its under 0.5 mG EMF figure
  • How long assembly takes
  • The delivery timeline
  • Whether the sale price will last

Before you buy

InstallationIt needs its own dedicated 120 V, 20 A circuit with GFCI protection

It needs its own dedicated 120 V, 20 A circuit with GFCI protection. That can be a GFCI breaker, a GFCI outlet or a dual-function AFCI/GFCI breaker (check local code). The 5-20P plug needs a NEMA 5-20R receptacle. Don't use power strips, extension cords or converters. The owner's manual says to have a licensed electrician install the dedicated circuit. The 10 ft power cord exits the back-left of the roof. It's for indoor use only, away from rain, snow, high humidity and liquids. Leave at least 4 in at the sides and back (6 in behind, per the Installation Guide) and 12 in overhead. Sun Home says its Magne-Seal panels assemble indoors without special tools. The manual says assembly takes two or more people. No assembly time is stated. According to Sun Home's warranty FAQ, installation that doesn't follow the instructions or electrical requirements, such as a dedicated outlet, voids the warranty. So does placing the sauna within five feet of a source of water that produces liquid or vapor.

WarrantyThe product page shows a "7-Year Warranty"

The product page shows a "7-Year Warranty". A site-wide menu advertises a "Limited Lifetime Warranty" on most models but doesn't say whether it applies to this one. The owner's manual gives 7 years on cabinetry and heaters and 3 years on controls. Glass and audio get 1 year. Coverage is for the original owner only, with proof of purchase. Sun Home's warranty FAQ says limited lifetime coverage for cabinetry and heaters is for residential use only and applies for up to seven years. For orders placed on or after March 2, 2026, labor and all shipping charges are covered for the first 90 days. After that, you pay shipping and labor. Exclusions include moisture and water exposure, pests, and improper installation, including not using a dedicated outlet. Placing the sauna within five feet of any source of water that produces liquid or vapor is also excluded. Commercial buyers get separate terms.

ReturnsYou can return the sauna within 30 days of delivery only if it's unused…

You can return the sauna within 30 days of delivery only if it's unused and in its original, unopened packaging. Sun Home deducts a 25% restocking fee plus outbound and inbound shipping from the refund, even during free-shipping promotions. It won't take back an uncrated, assembled or used sauna under any circumstances. Refunds are issued within 21 days of Sun Home receiving the return. Every cancellation carries a 3% fee per product. You can cancel an in-stock order within 24 hours of placing it. After that, a 25% restocking fee and possibly roundtrip shipping apply. Sun Home asks you to inspect the shipment before the delivery driver leaves.

More about this assessment

Sun Home Equinox 2-Person is an indoor two-person full-spectrum infrared sauna built from kiln-dried eucalyptus. It pairs four far-infrared wall heaters with two full-spectrum heaters and is rated at 1,880 W. It runs on 120 V but needs its own 20 A GFCI circuit, which the manual says a licensed electrician should install. It was on sale for $6,099 (regular $6,799) with free shipping, and Sun Home doesn't price the electrical work. Cabinetry and heaters get 7 years, but warranty labor and shipping are covered only for the first 90 days. You can return only an unopened cabin, at a 25% restocking fee plus shipping both ways.

Strengths on paper

  • Price, stock status and free shipping are on the product page, with no quote needed
  • Runs on 120 V, not 240 V, with a published 1,880 W rating
  • Sun Home publishes the heater layout, electrical rating, maximum temperature, outside and inside measurements, clearances, door opening, bench size and weight
  • Sun Home says its panels assemble without special tools

Limitations

  • Needs a dedicated 120 V, 20 A GFCI circuit, which the manual says a licensed electrician should install (no power strips or extension cords)
  • Sun Home doesn't publish the wattage of each far-infrared wall heater, its EMF test method or any electrical safety listing
  • Warranty labor and shipping are covered only for the first 90 days
  • Controls are covered for 3 years, and glass and audio for 1 year
  • The product page's 7-year badge sits beside a site-wide "Limited Lifetime" menu item that doesn't say whether it covers this model
  • Only unopened cabins can be returned, at a 25% restocking fee plus outbound and inbound shipping
  • The warranty doesn't transfer to a later owner

3-year known subtotal

$6,099.00

Incomplete: installation, other annual costs, energy use. This is not the full ownership cost.

Energy component: Unknown

Purchase + installation + years × (annual consumables + annual other) + watts/1000 × hours/day × 365 × years × $/kWh. Annualized allowances, not an exact replacement schedule. Excludes taxes, shipping, finance and resale unless entered.
Replacement parts & cost assumptions

No scheduled consumable is listed. That does not mean zero maintenance or repair costs.

  • Purchase is the $6,099 sale price seen on Oct 13, 2026. At the $6,799 regular price, it would be $700 higher. Shipping was listed as free.
  • Installation cost is unknown. You assemble the cabin yourself, with two or more people. But it needs a dedicated 120 V, 20 A GFCI circuit with a NEMA 5-20R receptacle, which the manual says a licensed electrician should install. Sun Home doesn't price that work.
  • No recurring proprietary part or subscription was found. The $0 for annual consumables doesn't mean zero cost for electricity, cleaning, shipping, installation or repair. Other annual costs are left unknown rather than set to zero.
  • The 1,880 W figure is the rated draw from the spec sheet and owner's manual, not a measured average. Sun Home doesn't state typical daily use, so energy cost isn't estimated. After the first 90 days, you pay labor and shipping on warranty repairs.

Evidence & sources.

Are saunas good for you? Our evidence review grades the research as Moderate. That grade is about the claim, not about this product.

  • Manufacturer claimHeater layout, electrical rating, maximum temperature, measurements, clearances and materials come from Sun Home's own specifications.134 These figures come from the maker and weren't measured independently.
  • Manufacturer claimSun Home markets the cabin as ultra-low EMF at under 0.5 mG.134 The claim appears only on the product page. The spec sheet and owner's manual give no EMF figure, test method, measurement distance or third-party report.
  • Manufacturer claimSun Home documents no electrical safety listing.134 The product page, spec sheet and owner's manual name no ETL, UL, CSA or other listing or file number. No certifier directory was checked. A listing could exist without appearing in these documents, so confirm with Sun Home before you buy.
  • Manufacturer claimThe owner's manual recommends a maximum session of 40 minutes, with typical sessions of 20 to 40 minutes. It tells people to consult a physician first if they have heart or blood pressure conditions, are pregnant, or have pacemakers or other electronic implants, among other cases. It also rules out use under the influence of alcohol or drugs.4 These are usage precautions, not evidence of a health benefit. The product page and manual carry general wellness marketing. They cite no regulatory clearance, independent test or study of this model, and show no FDA statement. This review doesn't assess that marketing.
