The verdict

The Nodpod is a $38 strap-free mask: a 9 oz strip of bead-filled pods that lies over your eyes. It suits you if gentle weight helps you drift off and straps bother you. The catch is that Nodpod says it may slip off overnight, and there are no warranty terms.

The trade-off

It may slide off during the night, and you get a 30-day return window but no warranty terms.

InstallationNothing to install

Nothing to install. For side sleeping, put the last two pods over your eyes and rest your head on the hollow end. Sitting up, pull a corner through the slit to hold it on. Machine wash it on a normal cycle with a full load, inside a garment bag. It's dryer-safe, but Nodpod recommends air drying so it lasts longer. You can chill it in the freezer, and it stays soft. Don't microwave it, because the beads melt.

WarrantyNot stated by the manufacturer

Not stated by the manufacturer. The product page, refund policy and FAQ don't mention a warranty or defect cover. That leaves the 30-day return window as your only cover.

ReturnsNodpod offers a 30-day money-back guarantee, with returns or exchanges…

Nodpod offers a 30-day money-back guarantee, with returns or exchanges, on orders from nodpod.com. Orders marked Final Sale can't be returned. The product page points you to a returns portal, but the refund policy says you need a return authorization before sending anything back. You pay return shipping, and Nodpod isn't responsible for returns lost in transit. Returns are processed within 10 to 14 business days. A mask bought from another store goes back under that store's policy. The FAQ promises a refund if you're not satisfied but doesn't say whether a washed mask qualifies.

More about this assessment

The Nodpod is a strap-free weighted mask: a 29 by 4 inch strip of four bead-filled pods that weighs 9 oz. Nodpod says it's meant to get you to sleep, not to stay on all night, and it may slip off. Every color costs $38. Nodpod says the darkest colors come closest to full blackout, while lighter ones like Bone let some light through. It's machine washable and can go in the freezer. There are no warranty terms. Returns are limited to 30 days, and you pay return shipping.

  • Can't be warmed in the microwave, because the plastic beads melt

Replacement parts & cost assumptions

No scheduled consumable is listed. That does not mean zero maintenance or repair costs.

  • Purchase is the $38 list price on Oct 13, 2026, before tax and shipping.
  • Shipping is free on US orders over $75. Below that, Nodpod's FAQ lists a $6.99 flat rate, so one mask comes to $44.99 before tax.
  • There are no parts, refills, power or subscriptions, so those costs are $0.
  • Nodpod gives no lifespan or replacement interval, so no replacement is budgeted. A new one costs $38 at today's price.
  • Nodpod says to wash it in a garment bag but doesn't say one comes in the box. Its cinch-close travel bag is a separate $16.
  • Nodpod says the mask qualifies for HSA or FSA reimbursement through Truemed and tells you to check with your plan administrator.

Evidence & sources.

Do cooling mattress pads, sleep masks and sheets help you sleep? Our evidence review grades the research as Weak. That grade is about the claim, not about this product.

  • Manufacturer claimNodpod calls the mask "The Weighted Blanket For Your Eyes®" and says its strap-free design spreads deep-touch pressure across key pressure points. It says this can calm overactive minds, soothe headaches and help you fall asleep faster.12 Manufacturer claims. Nodpod cites no study of the mask itself. It adds that not everyone feels the effect as quickly.
  • Manufacturer claimNodpod's FAQ says deep touch pressure calms the central nervous system, raises serotonin and lowers cortisol, and has been used in clinical practice for decades.1 No study is cited for any of these effects. The same FAQ says Nodpod knows of no studies in people with conditions related to ocular hypertension, like glaucoma, and advises asking a physician first.
  • Manufacturer claimThe product page shows an OEKO-TEX Certified badge.1 No certificate number, standard or certified component is given, so there's nothing to look up in OEKO-TEX's registry. The page also lists five US patents, but a patent isn't evidence that a product works.
  • Manufacturer claimThe FAQ on the product page says the mask is completely light-blocking.14 Nodpod's main FAQ is less absolute. It says the darkest shades come nearest to full blackout and lighter shades like Bone let a small amount of light through. No measurement is published, and one customer review on the product page says it doesn't block light fully.
  • Manufacturer claimThe product page shows an average of about 4.5 out of 5 from 1,263 customer reviews.1 Reviews collected and shown by the seller aren't independent and aren't a controlled comparison with other masks.
