The verdict

Momentous Omega-3 puts 800 mg EPA and 800 mg DHA into two softgels a day, in what Momentous calls natural triglyceride form. NSF's own database lists it as Certified for Sport for all lots. The catch is about $487 a year at the $39.99 one-time price (a 60-softgel bottle lasts 30 days), and delivered products generally can't be returned.

The trade-off

It's about $487 a year at the one-time price (about $438 on Subscribe & Save after the first delivery), the softgel is bovine gelatin, and the refund policy says delivered products generally can't be returned.

About this price

One-time price for the 60-softgel bottle, from the product page and Momentous's online store. The store lists one option, at $39.99 with no sale price. Subscribe & Save, which comes in 1-, 2- and 3-month delivery plans, isn't used as the list price. Its first delivery is $29.99 (25% off), and later deliveries are $35.99 (10% off). The store showed the bottle as available on Oct 13, 2026. The page text also has a generic "out of stock" and "Notify me when available" block, but it sits beside a link to a different product (Turmeric Ultra). Before tax and shipping.

A GOOD FIT FOR

You're a drug-tested athlete or a careful shopper who wants an even 1,600 mg of EPA plus DHA from two softgels a day, with an NSF Certified for Sport listing that covers all lots.

  • An athlete subject to drug testing who wants a fish oil listed in NSF's Certified for Sport database for all lots
  • An adult who wants 1,600 mg of combined EPA and DHA, split evenly, from two softgels a day

THINK TWICE IF

  • Anyone avoiding fish or bovine products, since the label lists fish (anchovy, sardine, mackerel) and a bovine gelatin capsule
  • Anyone with a fish allergy or an underlying medical condition, or who takes medication, until they've checked with a healthcare professional (the product page says to consult one first)
  • Anyone who wants the option to send back an unwanted bottle, since the refund policy says delivered products generally can't be returned
What still needs checking
  • Whether IFOS's own listings confirm the IFOS certification Momentous claims
  • Oxidation (freshness) and heavy-metal test results for a given lot
  • Why NSF lists two "Momentous Omega-3" entries, and which matches the current label (they share serving size, count, calories and fat, and differ only in listed goals and package-size wording)
  • Bottle dimensions and softgel size
  • Price and contents of the "5 Day Travel Pack" pictured on the product page, which Momentous's online store doesn't list as an option

ReturnsThe store's refund policy says Momentous generally doesn't accept returns…

The store's refund policy says Momentous generally doesn't accept returns of delivered products, except where applicable law requires it. Original and return shipping costs aren't refundable either, except where the law requires. The policy adds that it doesn't limit your rights under applicable consumer protection laws, and asks you to contact Momentous if there's a problem. It gives no return window or refund timing. Orders can generally be changed for at least 60 minutes after they're placed. Products bought from a retailer go back to that retailer.

More about this assessment

Momentous Omega-3 is a fish oil softgel with 800 mg EPA and 800 mg DHA per two-softgel serving. Momentous says the oil is in natural triglyceride form, from anchovy, sardine and mackerel sourced from Norway. NSF's Certified for Sport database lists it for all lots. A 60-softgel bottle lasts 30 days and costs $39.99 as a one-time purchase. The catch is cost: about $1.33 a day, or roughly $487 a year. The softgel is bovine gelatin, and the refund policy says delivered products generally can't be returned.

Strengths on paper

  • 1,600 mg of combined EPA and DHA (800 mg each) in a two-softgel serving, per the label image
  • Listed twice in NSF's Certified for Sport database as a 60-count softgel with lot # "All"
  • About $1.33 a day at the $39.99 one-time price and the labeled two softgels a day
  • Momentous names the fish (anchovy, sardine, mackerel), the origin (Norway) and the oil form (natural triglyceride)
  • No power, setup or required subscription

Limitations

  • About $487 a year at the one-time price and the labeled dose, or about $438 a year at the ongoing Subscribe & Save price
  • Its labeled dose (1,600 mg of EPA and DHA a day) is above 1 g a day, and a 2021 meta-analysis found the rise in atrial fibrillation risk appeared larger in cardiovascular-outcome trials testing more than 1 g a day
  • The refund policy says delivered products generally can't be returned, and original and return shipping aren't refunded
  • Momentous's online store lists only the 60-softgel bottle, so there's no larger size to bring the cost down
  • The Supplement Facts and ingredients appear as a label image, so this review reads them from that image's description on Momentous's store rather than page text
  • IFOS certification, molecular distillation, per-batch testing for "purity, potency, and label accuracy" and "free from harmful additives and heavy metals" are Momentous's claims, not checked independently for this review

Replacement parts & cost assumptions

Recorded recurring parts and refills:

  • Momentous Omega-3, 60 softgels: $39.99 every 0.99 months. One 60-softgel bottle lasts 30 days at the labeled 2 softgels a day (about 0.99 months). The cost is the $39.99 one-time price. It leaves out the Subscribe & Save price ($29.99 for the first delivery, then $35.99), tax and shipping.
  • A year of refills at the labeled two softgels a day is 730 softgels / 60 per bottle x $39.99 = $486.55 at the one-time price. At the $35.99 Subscribe & Save price for deliveries after the first, the same year would cost about $437.88 (730 / 60 x $35.99). Tax and shipping aren't included.
  • The three-year estimate counts the first $39.99 bottle as the purchase, then adds three full years of refills. That's about one bottle more than 1,095 days' worth of softgels would need.

Do creatine, fish oil, vitamin D and magnesium work? Our evidence review grades the research as Mixed. That grade is about the claim, not about this product.

  • CertificationNSF's Certified for Sport database lists two "Momentous Omega-3" products by Momentous. Both are fish oil/omega softgels with a serving size of 2 softgels and a 60-count package. Both show 20 calories and 2 g fat per serving, matching the label image. Both carry free-of claims for gluten and GMOs, list the United States as the country of sale and give lot # "All". The entries differ in listed goals: id 1671910 lists brain health, while id 1597386 lists bone/joint support, brain health and immune function.35 Checked in NSF's own database, not just from the mark on the product page. The listings show no product code or certification date, and they don't say what the program screens for. A sport certification concerns product contents and banned-substance screening, not health effects.
  • Manufacturer claimMomentous says the product delivers "a clinically effective dose of 1,600mg of EPA and DHA in a clean 1:1 ratio," in natural triglyceride form, from Norwegian anchovies, sardines and mackerel. It also says the product is NSF Certified for Sport, with every batch independently tested for purity, potency and label accuracy. It claims IFOS certification and molecular distillation, too. The page says the product supports areas including cardiovascular function, brain health, inflammation regulation and exercise recovery. It carries the standard notice that these statements haven't been evaluated by the FDA.12 Manufacturer statements. The IFOS certification, test results and "clinically effective dose" claim weren't checked independently for this review. The page's benefit statements aren't evidence of a health effect. The page tells people with fish allergies or underlying medical conditions, and those who take medications, to consult a healthcare professional first.
  • Published studyA 2021 meta-analysis pooled 7 randomized cardiovascular-outcome trials (81,210 participants, mean age 65, weighted average follow-up 4.9 years). It found that marine omega-3 supplements were associated with a higher risk of atrial fibrillation (hazard ratio 1.25, 95% CI 1.07 to 1.46). The rise appeared larger in trials testing more than 1 g a day (HR 1.49, 95% CI 1.04 to 2.15). In trials testing 1 g a day or less, the hazard ratio was 1.12 (95% CI 1.03 to 1.22). A meta-regression estimated about an 11% higher risk for each extra gram a day.7 Summarized from the abstract as indexed by Europe PMC. The trials enrolled people for cardiovascular-outcome research and didn't test Momentous's softgels. The analysis looked at atrial fibrillation only, not at overall benefit or harm. Momentous's labeled two softgels a day supply 1,600 mg of EPA and DHA, above the 1 g a day split used in the analysis.
