The verdict

The Vital 200S-P is a 250 CFM purifier for a room up to 388 ft², with app control and a pet mode. Its $49.99 filter lasts 6 to 12 months. The catch is thin data: one CADR number, one power figure and no confirmed AHAM, CARB or Energy Star listing.

The trade-off

Levoit publishes one CADR and one power figure, and no independent listing for this model could be confirmed.

A GOOD FIT FOR

A bedroom or living room up to about 390 ft² where you want app schedules and a pet filter option.

A bedroom, home office or living room up to about 390 ft²
You want app control, schedules and voice control through Alexa or Google Assistant
You have pets and want a pet mode plus a pet filter option
You're fine with filter costs of $50 to $100 a year
You want the option of a smoke, pet or toxin filter

THINK TWICE IF

An open-plan space or a whole floor; the 1,862 ft² figure assumes one air change an hour
You want an AHAM, CARB or Energy Star listing for this exact model that you can check before buying
You want to know its power draw at each speed before you buy
A tight spot; it's 15.6 in wide and needs 15 in of open space in front

What still needs checking

Whether AHAM's Verifide directory lists it, and with which smoke, dust and pollen CADR
Whether CARB certified it; the readable part of CARB's list didn't reach it
Which pollutant the 250 CFM figure refers to
Power draw at each fan speed and in standby
Noise at each fan speed
Whether the $59.99 Pet Allergy or $64.99 Smoke Remover listing includes one filter or two
Which color ships from the $189.99 listing
Whether opened filters can be returned

The practical details.

InstallationNo installation

No installation. It sits on the floor or another flat, stable surface and runs from the included AC adapter (24 V, 2.5 A). The manual asks for at least 15 in (38 cm) of open space in front. Keep it away from curtains, damp spots and heat sources, and 5 ft from where oxygen is in use.

Warranty2 years from the original purchase date, covering defects in materials and workmanship

2 years from the original purchase date, covering defects in materials and workmanship. Registration isn't required, and the warranty doesn't transfer to a later owner. Filters count as normal wear and aren't covered, and neither is commercial use. Only units bought from Levoit or an authorized seller qualify. Claims need the invoice and order ID, with the serial number and date code intact. Levoit decides whether to repair, replace or refund.

ReturnsLevoit offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on direct purchases, counted from delivery

Levoit offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on direct purchases, counted from delivery. The unit must go back in its original packaging with all accessories, and excessively worn or used items are refused. Levoit emails a prepaid label once it approves the return, and you have 15 days to ship it. The policy doesn't say whether opened filters can be returned.

More about this assessment

The Vital 200S-P is a floor purifier with a washable pre-filter, one combined main and carbon filter, and app control through VeSync. Levoit rates it at 250 CFM, enough for a 388 ft² room. It lists at $199.99, and its $49.99 replacement filter lasts 6 to 12 months. At one filter a year, three years of purchase and filters comes to $349.96 before electricity. Only one CADR and one power figure are published, with no smoke, dust or pollen split and no draw at each speed. Levoit claims AHAM Verifide certification and shows a CARB logo, but neither could be confirmed, and it isn't in Energy Star's data.

Strengths on paper

250 CFM, enough for a 388 ft² room at 4.8 air changes an hour
The $49.99 standard filter lasts up to 12 months, per the manual
Three alternative filters target pets, smoke and toxins
Washable pre-filter that the manual says doesn't need replacing
Levoit says it runs as quietly as 23 dB
Pet mode cycles 15 minutes on high and 60 minutes on medium
The VeSync app adds schedules, filter-life tracking and voice control
Levoit claims zero ozone emissions, and the manual mentions no ionizer or UV lamp
2-year warranty with no registration needed, plus a 30-day money-back guarantee and free shipping

Limitations

Levoit gives one CADR figure with no smoke, dust or pollen split
Only one power figure is published, and the page and manual disagree: 50 W versus 51 W
Noise is a 23 to 54 dB range with no per-speed figures
Levoit's HEPA-grade claim for the main filter is tied to sleep mode
Filter life is 6 to 12 months on the filter page, so filters may cost $99.98 a year
The warranty covers only units bought from Levoit or an authorized seller, and filters are excluded
Returns cover only direct purchases, within 30 days of delivery and in the original packaging
It carries a California Prop 65 warning for lead

Replacement parts & cost assumptions

Recorded recurring parts and refills:

Vital 200S Replacement Filter: $49.99 every 12 months. One filter that holds the main and carbon stages. The manual says to replace it every 12 months. The filter page says it lasts 6 to 12 months, depending on use and environment. That's $49.99 a year, or $99.98 if you change it every 6 months. Levoit says it was made for the Vital 200S-P series.
Pet Allergy Carbon Replacement Filter (optional): $59.99. Model LRF-V201-YUS. Levoit says it has 1.6 times more carbon but doesn't say compared with what. The box list says two filters, but the product name is singular, so it's unclear whether $59.99 buys one or two. No filter life is stated.
Toxin Absorber Carbon Replacement Filter (optional): $59.99. Model LRF-V201-GUS, one filter. Levoit doesn't give its filter life. If it lasts as long as the standard filter, it costs $10 more a year.
Smoke Remover Carbon Replacement Filter (optional): $64.99. Model LRF-V201-BUS, sold for smoke and odors. The box list says two filters, and the photos mention two bonus pre-filters, so the pack size is unclear. Levoit doesn't give its filter life. If it lasts as long as the standard filter, it costs $15 more a year.
Pre-filter: cost not recorded. Washable, and the manual says it doesn't need replacing. Clean it every 2 to 4 weeks with a soft brush or vacuum. You can also wash it with mild detergent and let it dry fully. The app can send reminders.

Purchase is the $199.99 regular price on Levoit's Black listing, with no sale shown. Levoit's main Vital 200S-P page lists the same model number for $189.99 without naming a color.
Filters are one $49.99 standard filter a year, following the manual's 12-month interval. Three years of purchase and filters comes to $349.96 before electricity. If you change the filter every 6 months, the low end of the filter page's range, three years comes to $499.93.
Watts is Levoit's 50 W rating; the manual says 51 W. Levoit doesn't give draw at each speed or say how many hours a day to run it. For scale, 50 W around the clock is 1.2 kWh a day, or 438 kWh a year. Energy cost isn't estimated.
Levoit lists no subscription or other recurring fee for the purifier or the VeSync app.

Evidence & sources.

Do air purifiers work? Our evidence review grades the research as Strong. That grade is about the claim, not about this product.

Manufacturer claimLevoit rates the Vital 200S-P at 250 CFM, for a 388 ft² room at 4.8 air changes an hour.^{1, 2} Levoit's own figures. The product pages name no test lab and give no smoke, dust and pollen split. The manual leaves CADR out but says cleaning takes longer in rooms over 380 ft². The 1,862 ft² figure is the same airflow at one air change an hour.
Manufacturer claimLevoit's replacement filter page lists AHAM Verifide certification, independent lab testing to IEST RP C001.7 and zero ozone emissions.^{1, 5} The lab isn't named and no report is linked. The HEPA-level claim applies to sleep mode. AHAM's directory couldn't be read, so the listing and its CADR values are unconfirmed.
Regulator recordThe product pages show a CARB logo, but the Vital 200S-P didn't appear in the readable part of CARB's certified list.^{1, 9} The Levoit entries that did appear were the Core Mini (EO G-26-030, Feb 17, 2026) and Core 200S (EO G-20-216, Sep 28, 2020). The page text cut off mid-entry, so the rest of the list couldn't be reached. Its CARB status is unconfirmed rather than missing.
Regulator recordA search of ENERGY STAR's current room air cleaner data found 10 Levoit models, none of them a Vital.^{4, 10} Searches for Vital and V201S returned nothing. The manual mentions ENERGY STAR and CADR per watt but gives no value for this model.
