Clearly FilteredWater Pitcher

80 oz pitcher with lab results for lead, PFAS and fluoride

Source-based analysis, not hands-on testing. Our method

The verdict

The Clearly Filtered pitcher holds 80 oz and needs nothing but a tap. Lab results that Clearly Filtered publishes show big drops in lead and fluoride, and in the PFAS chemicals PFOA and PFOS. NSF certifies its filtering only for chlorine, taste and odor, though, and filters cost about $260 a year.

The trade-off

Those reductions rest on lab tests the maker publishes, not an NSF/ANSI 53 or 473 certification.

About this price

One-time price on Clearly Filtered's product page on Oct 13, 2026, before tax and shipping. Autoship cuts the first order to $99 (10% off) with free US shipping. It then sends a $58.50 filter every 2, 3 or 4 months. The pitcher with a filter 3-pack is $290, and with a 6-pack $470.

A GOOD FIT FOR

A renter on city water who wants lead, PFAS and fluoride lowered without installing anything.

  • You're on treated city water and want lead, PFAS or fluoride lowered without installing anything
  • You rent or can't change the plumbing
  • One or two people, where a 100-gallon filter lasts 3 to 6 months
  • Your utility uses chloramine, which the lab results cover
  • You want per-contaminant lab numbers before you buy

THINK TWICE IF

  • Well water or any water that may be microbiologically unsafe
  • You want lead or PFAS reduction certified under NSF/ANSI 53 or 473
  • A big household changing filters every two months, about $390 a year
  • You want to keep the fluoride your utility adds
  • You'd rather drink from glass than plastic
What still needs checking
  • How long the filter takes to fill the lower reservoir
  • What the six filter media are made of
  • Whether the lab results hold across the full 100 gallons, since the data page doesn't give a test volume
  • Which pH the lead test used, since the data page gives one figure
  • Whether the warranty runs for life or for 24 months
  • Whether orders from Clearly Filtered's Amazon store get warranty cover
  • Whether any certifier besides NSF lists it; Clearly Filtered names only NSF
  • Who pays return shipping inside the US

MaterialsClearly Filtered says the pitcher is medical-grade Tritan plastic, free of BPA, BPS and phthalates, with no estrogen or androgen activity. NSF lists it under NSF/ANSI/CAN 372 for lead-free materials. The filter uses what Clearly Filtered calls Affinity Filtration Technology. It mentions six media but doesn't say what they are.

Before you buy

InstallationNone

None. You fill the top reservoir from the tap. Clearly Filtered says to prime each new filter and points to a video for the steps. Use water between 38 and 85°F.

WarrantyClearly Filtered calls it a limited lifetime warranty

Clearly Filtered calls it a limited lifetime warranty. Its policy page heads the section "2-Year Limited Lifetime" and says the warranty expires 24 months after purchase. It covers faulty workmanship or materials, and repair or replacement is the only remedy. Filters, wear and tear, accidents and misuse are excluded. One line says only clearlyfiltered.com purchases qualify, and another also accepts its official Amazon store.

ReturnsClearly Filtered offers a 30-day satisfaction guarantee from the date of purchase

Clearly Filtered offers a 30-day satisfaction guarantee from the date of purchase. Only orders from clearlyfiltered.com can be returned. Used filters are excluded, and the original shipping fees aren't refunded. Signs of improper use rule out a refund. The policy doesn't say who pays return shipping inside the US.

More about this assessment

The Clearly Filtered pitcher holds 80 oz of filtered water and needs nothing but a tap. It costs $110 up front. Filters cost $65 each, about $260 a year for an average family. Clearly Filtered's published lab results show lead down 99.34% and fluoride down over 99.54%. NSF certifies it only for chlorine, taste and odor, plus lead-free materials, so those results aren't certified. It's made for treated city water, not water that may be microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality.

Strengths on paper

  • Clearly Filtered publishes before-and-after levels for each contaminant on its data page
  • Lab results show lead down 99.34% and fluoride down over 99.54%
  • PFOA fell 99.64% and PFOS over 99.80% in the same testing
  • Chloramine fell over 99.68%, which matters if your utility uses it instead of chlorine
  • NSF's listing confirms the 100-gallon filter rating
  • No plumbing, power or subscription needed
  • Spare filters don't expire if kept cool and dry, so you can buy ahead
  • Clearly Filtered says it's HSA/FSA eligible

Limitations

  • NSF certifies only chlorine, taste and odor reduction, plus lead-free materials
  • The lead, PFAS and fluoride results come from lab tests the maker publishes, not a certification
  • Filters cost $65 each, about $260 a year for an average family
  • Made only for treated city water, with no results for cysts, bacteria or viruses
  • The warranty page says both "limited lifetime" and 24 months
  • The warranty excludes filters, and used filters can't be returned
  • Returns are accepted only on orders from clearlyfiltered.com
  • Original shipping fees aren't refunded on returns
  • It's 10.87 in tall and 11.4 in long, so measure your fridge shelf first

Replacement parts & cost assumptions

Recorded recurring parts and refills:

  • Pitcher Replacement Filter: $65 every 3 months. Rated for 100 gallons, about 200 fills of the top reservoir. Clearly Filtered suggests a change every 2–3 months for three or more people, 3–4 months for two and 4–6 months for one. Hard or heavily contaminated water may need earlier changes. It's $58.50 on autoship. Unused filters don't expire if stored cool and dry.
  • Purchase is the $110 one-time price on Oct 13, 2026, before tax and shipping. Autoship makes the first order $99.
  • Filters are rated for 100 gallons. Clearly Filtered says that lasts an average family about 3 months, so four $65 filters a year, or $260.
  • By Clearly Filtered's household guide, three or more people would spend $260–$390 a year. One person would spend $130–$195.
  • On autoship each filter is $58.50, or $234 a year at four filters.
  • No power, plumbing or subscription is needed, so energy and other yearly costs are zero.
  • At list prices, three years comes to $890 before tax and shipping.

Evidence & sources.

Do water filters work? Our evidence review grades the research as Strong. That grade is about the claim, not about this product.

  • CertificationNSF's database lists the Filtered Water Pitcher and its Pitcher Replacement Filter under NSF/ANSI 42. The listed claims are chlorine reduction and taste and odor reduction, with a 100-gallon service cycle. A footnote adds NSF/ANSI/CAN 372, which covers the lead content of the materials.3 No NSF/ANSI 53, 58, 401 or 473 listing appears, so the lead, PFAS, fluoride and microplastics results aren't NSF-certified. NSF says the listing was current on Oct 13, 2026.
  • Manufacturer claimClearly Filtered's performance data page reports lab results for the pitcher filter (CF-PRF). Lead fell from 152 to 1 µg/L (99.34%) and fluoride from 2.18 to under 0.01 mg/L (>99.54%). PFOA fell 99.64% and PFOS over 99.80%. Arsenic fell 98.00%, hexavalent chromium 99.68%, nitrate over 99.96% and chloramine over 99.68%.2 Testing finished in November 2025 at QFT, now IAPMO New Jersey, an ISO 17025 lab. This is lab testing, not certification. The page says the figures are maximum removal percentages and that not every contaminant had an NSF/ANSI protocol. It gives one lead figure with no pH and doesn't state the test volume. There are no results for cysts, bacteria or viruses.
  • Manufacturer claimThe product page says the pitcher removes up to 99.99% of 386+ contaminants. Its comparison chart lists PFOA at >99.00% and PFOS at >99.50%.12 This is the marketing summary. The FAQ on the same page says it was tested against 365+ contaminants. The data page gives higher PFOA and PFOS figures, so check it for the contaminant you care about.
  • Manufacturer claimClearly Filtered says the pitcher is for municipally treated tap water. It says the filter isn't for water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality.2 Matters for private wells. No disinfection claim is made.
