Blows warm or cooling air into your bed, with no water pad or subscription

The verdict

BedJet 3 blows air into your bedding from a unit under or beside the bed. It heats to 109°F and runs from a remote with no app subscription. The catch is cooling: how cool it gets depends on your bedroom, and BedJet says it can't replace air conditioning above 79°F.

The trade-off

How cool it gets depends on the room, and the Cloud Sheet that spreads the air costs $129 to $149 more.

About this price

Sale price on the official US page, shown against an original price of $699, before tax. US shipping is free. The price is for the BedJet 3 unit, which BedJet says works on any size bed. The size choice on the page is for the optional Cloud Sheet: Single Zone Twin XL $129, Queen/Full $139 or King $149. Dual Zone sheets cost the same in Queen/Full and King. The Cloud Sheet's own page shows these as sale prices against $139, $159 and $169. A 4-year protection plan is offered without a listed price. The page showed a low-inventory alert.

A GOOD FIT FOR

One sleeper, or a couple happy with one setting, in a bedroom that stays below 79°F.

  • A hot sleeper in a bedroom that stays below 79°F who wants air instead of a water pad
  • A cold sleeper who wants a pre-warmed bed without an electric blanket
  • One partner who wants air on their side only, using a Dual Zone Cloud Sheet
  • A bed with 6 in of clearance underneath, or floor space beside it
  • You want a remote, hourly programs and no subscription

THINK TWICE IF

  • A bedroom that's often above 79°F; BedJet says it doesn't replace air conditioning there
  • Two sleepers who each want their own setting; that takes the Dual Zone system
  • Light sleepers who need a published noise rating before buying
  • You want the bed held at a set cool temperature whatever the room is doing
What still needs checking
  • Measured noise level
  • Average power use per night, especially in heat mode
  • Full warranty terms, exclusions and how claims work
  • Price and terms of the 4-year protection plan
  • Unit weight
  • UL listing details; BedJet says it's UL certified but gives no file number
  • What study, if any, backs the product page's "clinically proven" claim; the page cites none

The practical details.

More about this assessment

BedJet 3 sits under or beside the bed and blows air, heated or not, into your bedding through a hose. The unit is $498 on sale, and the Cloud Sheet that spreads the air costs $129 to $149 more. There's no subscription, and the washable filter is meant to last the life of the unit. Cooling draws up to 40 W, but heating can draw up to 1,100 W. The catch is cooling: the 66°F low end depends on your bedroom, and BedJet says it can't replace air conditioning above 79°F. There's also no published noise rating.

Strengths on paper

  • No water to refill, no pad and nothing electrical inside the mattress
  • Heats as well as cools, up to 109°F
  • Low draw in cool mode: up to 40 W
  • The included remote runs hour-by-hour programs, so the free app is optional
  • Washable filter with no replacement schedule
  • 60-day returns with a prepaid label, plus a 2-year warranty BedJet says covers problems "whether it's our fault or yours"
  • One unit fits any bed size; only the optional Cloud Sheet is priced by size

Limitations

  • The 66°F low end depends on your bedroom, and BedJet says it's no substitute for air conditioning above 79°F
  • The Cloud Sheet that spreads air across the bed costs $129 to $149 more
  • Heating can draw up to 1,100 W, and Turbo 1,500 W for up to 10 minutes
  • No published decibel rating, so noise is a guess
  • Single zone: one setting for the whole bed
  • Needs under-bed clearance or floor space beside the bed, plus a hose into the bedding
  • Full warranty terms and the protection-plan price aren't published

Replacement parts & cost assumptions

Recorded recurring parts and refills:

  • Spare air filter (optional): $19. Not a scheduled replacement. BedJet says the factory filter is washable and built to last the life of the unit. It sells spares to use while one dries or to replace a damaged one. Rinse it every 3 months, more often with pets or a dusty floor.
  • AA batteries for the remote: cost not recorded. Two AA batteries come in the box. BedJet doesn't say how long they last.
  • Purchase is the $498 sale price for the unit alone. Add $129 to $149 for a Single Zone Cloud Sheet, which BedJet recommends for best performance.
  • Installation is $0: setup is a few clip-on steps and a standard outlet, and BedJet lists no paid service.
  • Annual consumables are $0 because the washable filter is meant to last the life of the unit. A $19 spare is optional.
  • Annual other is $0 because the app is free and BedJet lists no subscription or paid app features.
  • Hours per day is 8, the nightly use BedJet assumes in its own cost figure. Watts is left unknown because the draw depends on the mode. Cooling at up to 40 W for 8 hours is at most 0.32 kWh a night, about 117 kWh a year. Heating draws 100 to 1,100 W, and BedJet doesn't say how long the heater runs each night.

Evidence & sources.

Do cooling mattress pads, sleep masks and sheets help you sleep? Our evidence review grades the research as Weak. That grade is about the claim, not about this product.

  • Manufacturer claimBedJet states a 66°F to 109°F range, up to 40 W in cool mode, 100 to 1,100 W in heat mode and 1,500 W in Turbo for up to 10 minutes.1 Manufacturer specifications. The low end depends on bedroom temperature, and BedJet says it isn't a replacement for air conditioning in bedrooms over 79°F. No independent measurement of temperature, airflow or noise was found on the pages checked.
  • Manufacturer claimBedJet says the unit is UL certified for bedroom use.1 The page gives no UL file number or listing link, so the listing could not be matched to a certificate. No FDA clearance is claimed.
  • Manufacturer claimBedJet cites its own survey of 1,281 uncompensated owners: 96% said they sleep better, and 98% "reported relief from night sweats and hot flashes."1 A self-selected owner survey run by the maker, not a controlled study. The page also claims "clinically proven results" but cites no study.
  • Manufacturer claimThe Cloud Sheet is 100% cotton with no textile certification listed.4 No OEKO-TEX or other certificate number appears on the Cloud Sheet page.
  • Manufacturer claimBedJet 3 can be bought with HSA or FSA funds through Flex, which requires a Letter of Medical Necessity from a chat-based consultation.5 A payment arrangement, not evidence of a health effect or a regulatory clearance. The page says accessories, parts and extended warranty plans don't qualify, though its FAQ lists Cloud Sheets as eligible. Flex isn't available in Louisiana, New Mexico or Mississippi.
